7 Pieces 7 Outfits

Good morning! Today I’m participating in the 7×7 Remix. Basically, it’s taking 7 pieces from your wardrobe (6 clothes items and one pair of shoes) and creating 7 different outfits, 7 Pieces 7 Outfits. Make sense?

Many of us complain about not having anything to wear. But most of us have the clothes, it’s just learning how to mix and match them to create different outfits.

Here are the 7 Pieces I pulled from my closet. 1. Ann Taylor black tank  2. Old Navy Chambray Shirt 3. JC Penney Coral Top 4. JC Penney Floral Skirt 5. The Limited White Jeans 6. Ralph Lauren Jean Capris 7. Ann Taylor Nude Sandals

7 Pieces 7 Outfits

Here are the 7 outfits I created with those 7 items. I added different accessories I already had and it was much easier than what I thought it would be.

Outfit #1

Last week I posted about adding a wide belt to my outfits and I’m enjoying wearing this belt.

Outfit #2

I’m not a huge fan of tucking my shirt in but I tried it with a thin yellow belt I had purchased from Target and I kind of like it.

Outfit #3

I used the belt with this skirt and I also added some coral earrings.

Outfit #4

This is a casual outfit but the pop of red in the necklace, makes it not so boring.

Outfit #5

I love black and silver so I added silver accessories to this outfit.

Outfit #6

This is a casual look with my chambray shirt tied in a knot.

I really like this black tank with this skirt and I had never put it together before now.

This was fun to do so I may try it again with 7 different pieces!

Do you try to mix and match to make different outfits in your closet?

Favorite “PINS” Friday-Dress Inspired

It’s June and that makes me think–wedding. I have a wedding I’ll be attending next weekend and I’ve been looking at dresses that inspire me. I already have several dresses I can wear but I’d like to add some accessories.

I love this dress and the clutch she’s carrying is gorgeous. Clutches are trendy right now so I’m seeing them everywhere.

She is traveling with Compassion International and with other bloggers. Traci will meet the child that she is sponsoring and their family. You can follow her journey over at her blog beginning on June 18th.

How To Add A Wide Belt To Your Outfit

How To Add A Wide Belt To Your Outfit

I have a little bit of a belt phobia. I never feel like they look good on me and they seem to accentuate the parts  of my body I’m trying to hide, i.e. my hips.

But lately, I’ve noticed that some of the outfits I’m wearing might look better with a belt. So I decided to give it a try!

In this picture I’m wearing my coral top with a navy blue skirt. I like this summer look, but it needs something.

How To Add A Wide Belt To Your Outfit

Voila! I added a wide brown belt around the smallest part of my waist. Now my outfit has a little more character don’t you think?

How To Add A Wide Belt To Your Outfit

A couple of things to remember when adding belts to your outfits:

  • If you have a short torso, your belt should match your outfit. This way you’ll avoid the contrast that chops up your waist.
  • If you’re petite, a thinner belt might look better.
  • If you have a full tummy opt for dark belts with elastic that can help hold in that tummy.
  • The best place to wear your belt is at the narrowest part of your waist. Also, make sure the belt fits and doesn’t hang loosely.

I’m going to try to add more belts to my wardrobe. Hopefully I can get over my phobia!

Do you wear belts? Do you like wide or thin belts the best?

What I Wore-My Style

Happy Wednesday! It’s What I Wore-My Style and our weather has been up and down this past week which shows in my clothes.

Sunday was warm so I wore this sleeveless dress. I took this picture in my recently painted home office. I’m still working on adding accessories, but it’s looking much better and I’ll share it with you when I get it completed.

Monday was a little cooler and we had dinner with friends. This cardigan was perfect for a cooler evening. I love the tiny flowers on this cardigan!

We had another mild day so I wore this lightweight 3/4 length sleeve sweater. I added my necklace from Francesca’t that goes with so many of my tops.  I purchased my handbag a few weeks ago, I like the neutral color and it’s a great size for me.

I love summer! But as far as clothes and fashion, I’ve realized, I like fall & winter clothes better.

What’s your favorite season and which clothes do you like wearing?

Beauty for the Heart~~“Life is not a straight line leading from one blessing to the next and then finally to heaven. Life is a winding and troubled road. Switchback after switchback. And the point of biblical stories like Joseph and Job and Esther and Ruth is to help us feel in our bones (not just know in our heads) that God is for us in all these strange turns. God is not just showing up after the trouble and cleaning it up. He is plotting the course and managing the troubles with far-reaching purposes for our good and for the glory of Jesus Christ.”  -John Piper

Stitch Fix Questions Answered!

Stitch Fix Questions Answered

Good morning! I get lots of emails about Stitch Fix. So today I thought I’d try to answer some of your questions. I posted about it here too.

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. A group of stylists put together 5 stylish pieces of clothing (sometimes jewelry and/or accessories items are included) and ship them directly to you!  It’s a great way to add to your current wardrobe and get a hold of pieces that you might otherwise not have access to. No two Fixes are alike. Each one is hand–picked just for you.

Everyone has to fill out a detailed style profile with questions about your size, how you like your clothes to fit, and areas you want them to focus on.

But one of the questions I get the most, is the pricing. So I took a screen shot of the pricing. You pick between these 5 prices: The cheaper the better, $50-$100, $100-$150, $150-$200, and $200+

Stitch Fix Questions Answered

I can’t speak for everyone’s fix but generally the prices for each item in my box have ranged from $30 to $120.

They also ask you what you think of styles from these pictures: Do you love it, like most, like some, or don’t like much at all.

Some of you asked to see my profiles and this is it: I love this!

I like some of these pieces.

I don’t like this much at all. This is way to casual for me.
Stitch Fix Questions Answered

I don’t like this one either. There are pieces of it that are okay but at first glance it’s not me.
Stitch Fix Questions Answered

I like most of these (just not the boyfriend jeans). It’s a fun, casual look.
Stitch Fix Questions Answered

I like most of this look. It’s classic and I like it!
Stitch Fix Questions Answered
Last but not least, this is the place you check out! This is a screen shot of three of my five items. The price you see is the total of each piece. If I wanted the $32 necklace and that was it, I would pay $12 because they would take the $20 styling fee I paid up front out of that total. $12 would be my final price. Tax and shipping are included in the prices and styling fee. Does that make sense?

Stitch Fix Questions Answered
Also, you only get a fix when you want it. They have a calendar with the dates available and you pick what works for you. It doesn’t have to be every month.

Whew! I hope this helps, it could be more information than you wanted!

Are there any other questions that you want answered?
