What I Wore-Year In Review 2013

What I Wore-Year In Review 2013

Well, Christmas is over and I’m spending the day relaxing! I love staying home and spending most of the day in my pajamas!

This is my second full year of writing about fashion & beauty for women over 40 (I started blogging in 2009 but it’s changed over the last five years).

Most of the fashion blogs I follow are twenty or thirty something women. I love their blogs but I felt like there needed to be blogs for women my age.

We want to look fashionable. We’re not over the hill (whatever that is) but we don’t want to dress like our teenage or young adult daughters either.

I’ve learned a lot and I love sharing the latest trends and styles with you. I’ve had so much fun and I can’t believe how this blog has grown! I’m looking forward to 2014!

Today, I’m sharing What I Wore-Year in Review 2013. It’s a look at each month. All of my What I Wore posts can be found at the top of my blog. Click on Fashion and then What I Wore-My Style.

Stitch Fix Review-November

Toulouse Collared Wrap Dress

I’m finally getting around to sharing my Stitch Fix box with you. In case someone reading this is not familiar with Stitch Fix, I explained it all here.

Stitch Fix has been a fun thing for me to share on my blog. I’ve gotten to meet some of the ladies that work at Stitch Fix through Skype and I was supposed to head to San Francisco a few weeks ago to tour Stitch Fix and meet everyone.

Unfortunately some things came up and I wasn’t able to make it. I was soooo disappointed!!

Anyway, I wasn’t able to get a picture of me with all my pieces on but I have wore a couple of them and I’ll share them with you on Wednesday.

Here are the items that were in my box:

1. Ashmore dot print cotton henley shirt-This is a great shirt and I have several ideas on how I’m going to style it.

2. Toulouse collared wrap dress-I love a wrap dress and the red color is perfect for the Christmas season. Can’t wait to wear this one!

Old Navy Christmas Shopping

Old Navy Christmas Shopping

Well, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! That means it’s time to start shopping for some christmas gifts. I don’t shop at Old Navy a lot but I know some of you all do and you seem to like it.

So I decided to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised with some of their items and their prices. I took my daughter with me, who’s in her twenties, and she found lots of stuff she liked (I made some mental notes.)

Here are some of the items we liked! Maybe you have some one on your Christmas list that would like these too.

Honeycomb -Stitch Infinity Scarf  ($19.94)- I love a scarf and these are perfect for the winter weather.

Old Navy Christmas Shopping

Fair Isle Cardi Coats (44.94)-This cardi would look great with jeans and a pair of boots.

Old Navy Christmas Shopping

Military Style Jackets ($39.94)-I love a jacket and this military style is perfect for a casual look.

Old Navy Christmas Shopping

Tassel Zip Totes ($39.94)- I love a big purse and I’m wanting this color. This is a great price!

3 Easy Ways To Tie A Scarf

3 Easy Ways To Tie a Scarf
(I get a lot of emails about tying scarves so I’m sharing this post from last year again. This is 3 ways I like to tie my scarf. Hope it helps!)

Good morning! Today I’m sharing 3 easy ways to tie a scarf. You know, I love wearing scarves and I’ve been wearing these three ways a lot over the last month.

 1. The Double Loop Wrap

Place the scarf around your neck with the ends hanging in the back. Loop the ends of the scarf around and back to the front. Tie the two ends together with a simple knot to make the second layer.

2. The Pretzel

Fold scarf in half and wrap it around your neck. You’ll have a loop on one side and the two ends on the other. Pull one end through the loop. Twist the loop and pull the second end through. Adjust as desired.

(I get a lot of emails about tying scarves so I’m sharing this post I did last year again.)

3. Neck Tie Knot (tied like a man’s neck tie).
