Over 40 Makeup-Lipstick

I told you on Tuesday that I wanted to be a little more organized in my home life but also on my blog. So, I thought I’d dedicate Thursdays to makeup. Things like makeup tips, makeup I’m using, and makeup I like. Of course I’ll be gearing it towards women over 40.

Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite neutral lipsticks with you. It’s Bobbi Brown’s “Brown” lipstick. It’s a medium pink brown and I pair it with Mac’s “Pretty Plush” lip gloss.

Women over 40 should stick to neutral lipsticks which soften our face. I know all those trendy red, and hot pinks look fun but they will actually make you look older.

When choosing a neutral lip color, Bobbi Brown says, “never choose one that is lighter than your lips, because that will make you look washed-out”.

Bobbi Brown’s “brown” lipstick looks good on almost all women and is a great color to wear everyday.

Beauty For the Heart~~One of the things that I believe makes a women beautiful are the words that come from her mouth. Maybe I’m old-fashioned but curse words and slander are not becoming in my opinion.

My Top 5 Make-up Essentials

Good morning! Thank you all for your sweet comments about my crazy pop of color in my hair.

I’m getting a little more use to it and I may or may not keep it for very long. It’s still up in the air!

My sister has asked me to not do anything until she sees it in person. I think she wants a good laugh.

Today I wanted to share with you 5 makeup essentials that will help you on those days when you’re in a hurry.

I think most women look better with a little bit of make-up. I know I do!

Some days we don’t have time to bother with a lot of make-up but these 5 essentials will get you out the door and looking fabulous.

Lipstick or lip gloss~if you wear nothing else, apply this. It brightens your face and will give you immediate color.

Mascara~gives your eyes a lift.

Cheek color~gives you a beautiful glow.

Concealer~I always wear concealer under my eyes. I would sleep with it on if I could. It overs blemishes and dark circles quick and easy.

Powder~if you don’t have time to apply foundation, brush some powder on to even your skin tone and reduce the shine.

This will take you less than 5 minutes and you’ll look and feel better!

Beauty For the Heart~This morning I’m babysitting Colt Allen while Courtney goes to MOPS. I cherish these moments and I wish I could freeze time. I want to soak up his every move, the way he smiles and slobbers~~it’s adorable! I can hardly believe how quickly time passes so I’m savoring these precious moments.

Lipstick That Lasts All Day!

Good Morning and Happy Cyber Monday! I feel the sudden urge to order something online just to say I was a part of the big day. It’s estimated that over $1 billion dollars will be spent on Cyber Monday. Are you kidding me??

That. is. un. be. lievable!

Well, I don’t have any great cyber deals to tell you about today but I do have some amazing lipstick to share with you. I don’t know about you but I look better with a touch of color on my lips. The only problem is I don’t like having to reapply it every hour just to get the look I want.

Revlon has a liquid lipstick that stays on ALL day. Now that’s my kind of lipstick!

I have wore all day lipsticks before but they dried my lips out so bad that I couldn’t wear them. Because this one has a conditioning topcoat it keeps my lips moisturized. I also put lip balm on my lips at night before I go to bed especially at this time of year.

Tip: The color I like is Iconic Iris but I noticed it looked a little too pink for this season so I added a plum lip liner. I bought Maybelline Color Sensation Lip Liner.

So if you need to change the color of your lipstick try adding a lighter or darker shade of lip liner. It works great!

I love this reminder from Matthew 6: 19-21, ”Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be”. Today store up treasures in heaven by spending time in God’s word. Believe me that will be better than any Cyber Monday deal you can find!
