Favorite Drugstore Makeup Finds

Good morning!

It’s Monday and it’s raining here, which would be great if I could stay

home all day, but unfortunately I have to head out to work.

Today I wanted to share three products I’ve recently tried. I purchased all of them

at our local CVS Pharmacy. They are easy to find and inexpensive. Yeah!

The great thing about purchasing them at CVS is, if I don’t like something,

I can return it and get my money back. Perfect!

  • Revlon Colorstay gel eyeliner.

I use brown and I love this product, because of the container.

The brush is stored in the top. It’s a great idea, because you don’t have to spend time

looking for your eyeliner brush each time you use it.

  • Maybelline New York Expert Wear Eyeshadow Duos in Browntones.

As we age, neutral colors look the best on us. I want my eyes to look good but I don’t

want to wear colors that are glittery or are going to show off my lines and wrinkles.

This is a beautiful neutral color. I use an off white eyeshadow over my entire lid

and then add both of these colors. It’s a very soft and natural look. Perfect for my age.

  • Maybelline New York Lash Discovery Washable Mascara in black.

This mascara is great for adding length to your lashes and the brush is small

for hard to reach lashes, like mine. I have short eyelashes and I don’t want to

wear mascara that will make them look clumpy. Love this mascara!

If you have a great drugstore find, please share it with us!

Beauty for the Heart~~“I could not help but think that somewhere along the way

we had missed what was radical about our faith and replaced it with

what is comfortable.” ~David Platt

I love that quote, I want to be radical with my faith, Jesus says in Luke 9:23,

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take

up their cross daily and follow me.”

Let’s pick up our crosses and follow Jesus today!

Pros and Cons of Gel Eyeliner

Good morning! Today we’re talking about eyeliner. Woo hoo!

Who knew you could get so excited over eyeliner. :-)

Eyeliner is one of the things I wear everyday.

Truth be told, I sometimes were it to bed because I’m too lazy to remove my

eye makeup. I know, not smart!

Anyway, eyeliner makes your eyes pop and I’ve recently started wearing gel eyeliner

because it goes on easy without tugging on the delicate eye area.

The skin around our eyes is thin and as we age, skin loses its elasticity and becomes even

thinner due to a breakdown of collagen.

It’s important not to pull or tug on the eye area while putting on eyeliner.

There are many gel eyeliners to choose from but I use Maybelline Eye Studio gel eyeliner.

There are pros and cons to using gel eyeliner:

Pros:

  • Gel eyeliner produces neat line
  • You can control thickness of lines
  • It glides on smoothly and does not tug on skin
  • Gel eyeliner is long lasting and doesn’t smudge

Cons:

  • It dries quickly so any mistakes have to be fixed quick
  • Takes a few times getting use to using a brush to apply eyeliner

The Maybelline Eye Studio gel eyeliner is inexpensive and lasts a long time.

What about you, do you wear eyeliner and have you tried gel eyeliner?

Beauty For the Heart~~This week in Sunday School we’re studying the Shema

in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, which is the foundation of the Jewish faith and the

commandment Jesus considered the greatest in Mark 12:28-30.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all

your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

As christians this verse should guide our everyday life.

Does your life reflect your love for God?

Lipstick That Lasts All Day!

Good Morning and Happy Cyber Monday! I feel the sudden urge to order something online just to say I was a part of the big day. It’s estimated that over $1 billion dollars will be spent on Cyber Monday. Are you kidding me??

That. is. un. be. lievable!

Well, I don’t have any great cyber deals to tell you about today but I do have some amazing lipstick to share with you. I don’t know about you but I look better with a touch of color on my lips. The only problem is I don’t like having to reapply it every hour just to get the look I want.

Revlon has a liquid lipstick that stays on ALL day. Now that’s my kind of lipstick!

The Revlon Ultimate Lipstick is:

  • Food-proof lipcolor with a built-in, ultra-conditioning topcoat
  • One-step application- No topcoat required for comfortable wear
  • Stays comfortable and wears beautifully
  • Does not feather or fade; no touch-ups required, even after meals

I have wore all day lipsticks before but they dried my lips out so bad that I couldn’t wear them. Because this one has a conditioning topcoat it keeps my lips moisturized. I also put lip balm on my lips at night before I go to bed especially at this time of year.

Tip: The color I like is Iconic Iris but I noticed it looked a little too pink for this season so I added a plum lip liner. I bought Maybelline Color Sensation Lip Liner.

So if you need to change the color of your lipstick try adding a lighter or darker shade of  lip liner. It works great!

What’s your favorite lipstick? Let us know!

Beauty For the Heart: With the holidays in full swing it’s easy to think we need to buy and buy and buy and buy. But truthfully most of us have more than we need. I love this reminder from Matthew 6: 19-21, “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be”. Today store up treasures in heaven by spending time in God’s word. Believe me that will be better than any Cyber Monday deal you can find!
