I’m Ready For Spring Fashion

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I don’t know about you all, but I can’t help but think of Spring. The weather isn’t showing any signs of it yet but that doesn’t mean I can’t start taking a look at some spring fashion.

Here’s a few of my favorite things:

I'm Thinking Spring

1.1969 always skinny skimmer jeans in mint green from Gap - Oh I love these jeans especially in the mint color. I want to add these to my spring wardrobe.

2. Women’s Prabal Gurung from Target Wedge Sandal with Ankle Strap - Can’t wait to start wearing sandals. I love these in black and white.

3. INC International Concepts Top, Three – Quarter-Sleeve Striped Boat Neck Tunic – Stripes are a spring trend and so is black and white. This top has both!

4. Blazer from Banana Republic - I love a blazer and this yellow one from Banana Republic would be perfect for spring.

5. Beaded Teardrop Necklace from Groopdealz - I snagged this necklace from Groopdealz. It’s only 8.95 (regular price is $34.99) and comes in 6 colors. I ordered the mint green. There’s only 2 days remaining on this daily deal so if you want one grab it quick!

Although I love Spring fashion, I sometimes struggle this time of the year with what to wear. One day it’s freezing cold and the next day it’s warmer. I need more transitional pieces.

Are you ready for Spring? Do you have a hard time dressing in the in-between season?

Beauty For the Heart~~Sometimes life can be difficult but remember that Jesus is our source of strength and power. “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:1

Spring Trends 2013

Hey ladies! I know it’s January but I just can’t help myself. I’m taking a sneak peak at the spring trends for 2013. Of course, I want to share them with you too!

Now we know just because something is going to be trendy doesn’t mean that as women over 40 we have to add it to our wardrobe. We need to stick to with our basic wardrobe pieces and then add a few trendy pieces.

Every fashion trend is not for women over 40. Remember we’re not trying to look like a teenager!

But just for fun here are some of the spring trends and as spring gets closer, I’ll share with you the ones I’m going to add to my wardrobe.

Bermuda shorts~I’m not a big fan because they never look good on me. We’ll see!

Black & White~Oh I love black & white!

Statement Sunglasses~fun!

Bold Stipes~I like!

Beautiful Beading~interesting.

Short Suits~I won’t be showing my stomach, but if the shorts were a little longer, I like this trend.

Sporty dresses~These are too short for me but I like dresses.

Flats and Low Heels~the 90s point heels are back. I love this trend!

Okay, what do you all think? Which is your favorite trend?

I knew when I posted about casual shoes yesterday that you all would come through and share some great ideas! You all are the best! I love all your ideas!!

Favorite “Pins” Friday!

Happy Friday friends!

Yesterday, I posted about the chunky necklace trend. Of course, I headed to Pinterest and found some pictures of chunky necklaces that I love. It also looks from these pictures, that I love hot pink. I do!

This gorgeous white necklace is from J. Crew and it makes the whole outfit pop!

I’m not sure where this necklace is from but it’s beautiful! I especially like the color and it looks great with that hot pink blouse.

Do you have any spring/summer trends that you are loving? Please share!

Beauty For the Heart~~My sister and I recently decorated my laundry room. We added this saying to the wall because I fell in love with it when I saw it on Pinterest. This is what I want family and friends to know about us, when they come to our home.

I want all of these to be apart of our home but most of all I want our home to be filled with LOVE.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Show Off Those Shoulders With Cut Outs

Good morning!

One of the trends I’ve been wanting to wear this season is the Cut Out Shoulder top.

There are some trends that do not work for women over 40.

But a few months ago I read that your shoulders are the last thing to go for women. Ha!

I laughed out loud, and I decided then and there that the cut out top was my friend! :-)

I may not have the most toned arms and legs (I’ve been working on them)

but my shoulders are fine.

I found this top at JCPenney. The cut outs are conservative and I love the colorblocking.

Top: JCPenney (I added a white tank under the top

because it was a little low.)

Capris: Banana Republic outlet

Sandas: Kohl’s, Simply Vera Vera Wang

This would be a great “date night” outfit with my husband.

Our kids are grown but we still love date nights!

What do you think of the Cut Out Shoulder tops? Would you wear one?

Beauty For the Heart~~We often get caught up in the tough realities of our world, don’t we?

We grow apathetic to God along the way. But God passionately pursues us. He continues

to invite us to join “life” with Him. No matter what our days, or weeks hold, there is no doubt

that life with Him is much better than life without Him!

If you’ve been apathetic in your relationship with Jesus, renew it today!

I promise, He’s worth it!

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life

and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

{What I Wore} I’m Thinking Green!

Happy Hump Day!

Well, it almost feels like winter has returned. I had to wear a coat again this past weekend.

I’m not happy about this because I’ve put all my winter clothes away so I need

warm temperatures to return soon!

I’ve been busy spring cleaning and working on my laundry room (remember my sister

and I are re-doing my laundry room).

It also rained so I wore my rain boots several times. The necklace I have on is from

Lisa Leonard Designs. It says, to live is Christ on one side and to die is gain on the other.

My Dad and sister gave it to me for my birthday, after Mom passed away.

Since it’s been cold and I’m wearing winter clothes, I thought I’d share some

Pinterest pictures that I like. I’m in a green mood.

I love green and I’ve been trying to incorporate more of it into my wardrobe.

A few weeks ago I shared this green blouse that I purchased at TJ Maxx.

I found this casual green outfit on Pinterest. So cute for Spring!

I love polka dots so I had to share this outfit. I love all the accessories!

I would love to get that green purse!

I hope the weather is warmer where you live. I keep reminding myself that this

cold snap can’t last forever!

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Beauty For the Heart~~I’ve been thinking about James 1:22 NLV, “But don’t just listen to God’s

word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”

I want scripture to transform my life! I want to put my faith into action by loving and giving more.

Let’s commit to doing His word!

Lord, transform me and mold me to be more like you! Amen.

Cute and Inexpensive Spring Sandals

Happy Monday friends!

The weather is warming up so its time to paint those toes and grab your sandals!

A few weeks ago I did a post on some spring shoes that add color.

They were all high heels and several of you said you loved them, but could never wear them.

So today I’m sharing some cute and inexpensive sandals that you can add to your spring wardrobe.

The gladiator look is still “in” this season and I love them!

There are lots of styles to choose from and they look cute with shorts or capris. One thing I might add, if you have really thick ankles, gladiator sandals may not be a good fit for you.

Oh how I love to wear sandals with flowers and colored flip flops. So cute!

These are inexpensive and would look cute with a sun dress.

Both of these sandals are from Target. They would be a great addition to your spring wardrobe.

Okay, I had to share one set with pumps. I am crazy over wedges! I recently purchased the wedge on the left at Payless ShoeSource.

Beauty For the Heart~~Yesterday in Sunday School we talked about having an attitude of gratitude. We have so much to be thankful for and we want to make sure we thank the Lord for all of His blessings.

I found these words on Pinterest and thought they were very appropriate!
