Well, it’s finally gotten hot and humid in Kentucky. Which means I’ve pulled out the shorts and the flip flops.
I rarely wear flip flops except around the house but I recently went shopping and wore wedge heels, I shopped longer than expected and my feet started hurting. I grabbed these flip flops from Gap, they were $7.99 and I was desperate!! Have you ever had to do that?
Sometimes pictures don’t show the actual colors, I took this picture inside and it’s closest to the color of the shirt. I popped a yellow belt for fun. You don’t have to be matchy matchy all the time.
I love when you all send me pictures and share a little bit of your life with me. One of my readers, Sharon, sent me this picture of her sister, Mary. Sharon also sent me the bracelet I’m wearing in the above picture.
Mary lives in Winchester, VA. She has two children ages, 4 and 11. She had surgery almost a year ago and has lost over 100 lbs! She’s now healthy, exercises daily and no longer has high blood pressure or diabetes! Way to go Mary, you look amazing!
Lori is one of my blog readers and she’s wearing a chambray shirt, which of course, I love. Lori, is a DIYer and is thinking about starting a blog of her own. Lori I think you should do it!!
Are you experiencing the dog days of summer?? Fall is right around the corner!
Beauty for the Heart~~Wayne and I are going to have a small group of couples meeting at our house on Sunday nights beginning in September. We’re going to be teaching through the book, Not A Fan. I’ve read it before but I’m looking forward to reading it again! We love sports so the analogy of Not a Fan appeals to us.
Here’s a quote from the book:
“It may seem that there are many followers of Jesus, but if they were honestly to define the relationship they have with him I am not sure it would be accurate to describe them as followers. It seems to me that there is a more suitable word to describe them. They are not followers of Jesus. They are fans of Jesus. Here is the most basic definition of fan in the dictionary: “An enthusiastic admirer” It’s the guy who goes to the football game with no shirt and a painted chest. He sits in the stands and cheers for his team. He’s got a signed jersey hanging on his wall at home and multiple bumper stickers on the back of his car. But he’s never in the game. He never breaks a sweat or takes a hard hit in the open field. He knows all about the players and can rattle off their latest stats, but he doesn’t know the players. He yells and cheers, but nothing is really required of him. There is no sacrifice he has to make. And the truth is, as excited as he seems, if the team he’s cheering for starts to let him down and has a few off seasons, his passion will wane pretty quickly. After several losing seasons you can expect him to jump off the fan wagon and begin cheering for some other team. He is an enthusiastic admirer.”
Are you a Fan or a Follower?
Have a blessed day!
