What I Wore

Happy Wednesday! It’s What I Wore day and you’ve already seen a couple of my outfits.

I’ve been doing some fall decorating around the house so I’ve also been wearing my yoga pants and T-shirts quite a bit but I didn’t get a picture {smile}.

You might get the idea, that I like the orangey, coral color. I seem to have several tops in this color.

Okay, this next picture is not really about my outfit, but my coffee bar. I’ve been seeing some coffee bars on Pinterest and I decided to create my own.

I already had all of these items in my house, I just put them in my kitchen and I love the way it turned out. So fun!

Do you all find things on Pinterest that you try to copy? It’s addicting!

Beauty For the Heart~~I love poems (so did my Mom) and so I thought I’d share this one with you today.

Life is not a race – but indeed a journey.
Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy.
Say “thank you”, “I love you”, and “great job” to someone each day.
Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh.
Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper.
Love your life and what you’ve been given, it is not accidental.
Search for your purpose and do it as best you can.
Dreaming does matter It allows you to become that which you aspire to be.
Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them.
Some of the best things really are free.
Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming.
Forgive, it frees the soul.
Take time for yourself – plan for longevity.
Recognize the special people you’ve been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.

What I Wore~Black and White

Happy Wednesday friends! When I started taking pictures for What I Wore, I realized I was wearing too much black and white. I’ve been trying to add more color but this week was a failure. I went back to wearing a lot of  black and white!

So guess what I’ll be trying to incorporate into my wardrobe this week? Color!

Beauty For the Heart~~“Demonstrate your trust in me by sitting quietly in My Presence. Put aside all that is waiting to be done, and refuse to worry about anything. This sacred time together strengthens you and prepares you to face whatever the day will bring”– taken from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

Take time today to read God’s word and pray trusting that He will strengthen you and direct your paths.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message)

What I Wore-My Current Obsessions

Happy Wednesday! Last Friday, I shared my favorite “pins”  with you and told you these were my current obsessions.

Today, I’m happy to say I found some animal print shoes at Target (thank you Tonya for telling me about them!) and a jean jacket at Goodwill! The total cost was @19.00!

The animal print shoes are not identical to the picture but for $12.99, I like them. Similar pair here.

The jean jacket was 5.00 at Goodwill and all I did was cut the sleeves off.  I don’t usually shop at Goodwill, some of you know that because my sister, who loves Goodwill, likes to make fun of me! I just don’t ever seem to find anything. But I think this was a great bargain!

This vest will be so cute this fall with a scarf! I can’t wait to start wearing some scarfs. What about you?

Here’s a jean vest from JCrew for $98. I think I’ll stick with mine!

Okay, what do you all think? Do you like the jean vest and animal print shoes? I think they were a great bargain!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

What I Wore~White Capri Pants

Happy hump day! I’m definitely seeing a trend this summer with my white Capri pants! Their comfortable and cool so I’ve worn them a lot this summer.

It’s getting that time of the year, when I’m tired of all my summer clothes. I hate to say it, but I’m kind of ready to start Fall shopping. But first I’m going to hit some summer sales this weekend so I’m hoping to have something new to share with you next week.

One color that I have loved this summer is coral. Haven’t we all? It’s definitely been popular!

Coral top: JCPenney’s

White Capri’s: Banana Republic outlet

Polka dot top: TJ Maxx

Colorblocking top: JCPenney’s

Most of the week I’m in tank tops and Capri’s because the weather is sooooo hot! It’s been terrible here and I don’t think we’re going to get any breaks any time soon!

So, what are you wearing this summer? Do you start to get tired of your summer clothes?

Beauty For the Heart~~My devotion this morning reminded me that Jesus is near to me every moment of my day. That’s so comforting and I want to be more and more aware of His presence. I’m so glad we don’t go through our day alone!

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”  Hebrews 11:1

What I Wore This Week~Chunky Necklaces

Happy Hump Day! A few weeks ago, I posted about chunky necklaces being a hot trend. I realized I didn’t have very many so I’ve been on the look out for some chunky necklaces. I bought two necklaces over the last couple of weeks, both I wore with the same top! :-)

The weather has been oppressively hot this past week and to be honest I wanted to wear tank tops and shorts all week, but believe me, that’s not my best look. I love hot weather but it’s been too hot for me!

Beauty For the Heart~~This was a quote from my devotional book this morning, “The glitter of the world is tinny and temporal. The Light of My Presence is brilliant and everlasting.” How true!

Our material things can be gone in the blink of an eye. Natural disasters are all around us and our financial situation in America is not good.

But our God is everlasting! It’s the one thing that can’t be taken away from us. So today, fix your eyes on Him, the one who holds your future. He is faithful and He is worthy!

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

Have a blessed day friends!
