Difficult Seasons-Take Another Step

It seems like each week I come to this place and ask why? I know life is a journey and there are times of joy but there are also times of sorrow.

Just this week, a friend found out that her 2 year old daughter has a malignant brain tumor. They operated and removed 95% of the tumor. They will have to do chemo and radiation to get rid of the 5% that was left. My heart aches for this family.

I sometimes wonder how we handle the difficult seasons but I’m reminded of this quote by Oswald Chambers….

Take Another Step

We can’t give up. We have to have faith that God is in control. Do the next thing!

When my daughter found out about this tragedy, she texted me, “Why is life so hard?” My answer was simply, “Because this is not our home. We are here to shine light in a dark world and we never know how long we have.”

We have no guarantees of tomorrow but we have today, so let’s shine His light!

The song, Take Another Step by Steven Curtis Chapman kept coming to my mind.

Basically, the song is saying one minute everything can seem perfect and the next minute there’s tragedy. What do we do? Take another step, and then another, and then another……

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21

I have a hard time posting fashion pictures on Sundays but since I committed to 31 days of summer fashion I’m going to do it. You know I wasn’t going to get through 31 days of summer fashion without wearing my chambray shirt.

Summer Fashion-Navy & Orange

It’s Day 3 of my 31 days of summer fashion. Today I’m wearing navy & orange and I love this color combo!

Summer Fashion-Navy & Orange

I received this blouse in my Stitch Fix box last summer.  My gold sandals are from Marshall’s.

Summer Fashion-Navy & Orange

The blouse has a different neckline, but I like different. The navy shorts are from New York & Company.

Since I couldn’t wear a necklace, I opted for big gold earrings. I think these are from Francesca’s.

Summer Fashion-Business Casual

Happy hump day! It’s day 2, of my 31 days of summer fashion. Several of you mentioned “business casual” outfits so that’s what I’m sharing today.

I think there’s a difference between business attire and business casual attire. If you work in an office that is business attire, you would probably not want to wear the wedge heels.

Summer Fashion-Business Casual My black and white top I received in my June Golden Tote.

Summer Fashion-Business Casual My black ankle pants are from JCPenney’s.

My wedge heels are Lauren by Ralph Lauren from Macy’s.

Summer Fashion-Business Casual I love a comfortable outfit for summer!

Casual Friday Fashion

I’m heading out to do some Father’s Day shopping and I’m sharing some Casual Friday Fashion.

I might try something on for me too  (I usually get sidetracked ) so I’m wearing my chambray shirt because it’s a button up and makes trying on tops easy. I purchased this chambray shirt at Cato’s.

I’m also wearing these Liverpool jeans I got in my latest fix. I love the pop of color!

Are you having a good summer? Are you enjoying some pretty weather?

Beauty For the Heart~~This week is Vacation Bible School at our church. It’s such a fun week and I love seeing all the kids enjoying coming to church. The lessons have been so good and we’re teaching the children that God made us all different and he loves each of us.

That’s good for adults to hear too!

Have a blessed day!

Beauty For the Heart~~Do you know someone that needs encouragement? Scripture tells us to encourage one another. Look for someone today who needs a kind word, a hug or maybe a phone call. Not only will they be blessed but you’ll be blessed too!

Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (AMP)

Have a blessed day! and thank you for stopping by my blog. You’re such a blessing!
