22 Days of Summer Fashion-Polka Dot Dress

Welcome back to 22 Days of Summer Fashion! Jo-Lynne and I are sharing summer outfits and today is Day 6.

Most of you know I’m a huge dress fan. I love wearing dresses and this polka dot dress from Loft is a perfect summer dress.

The fabric is lightweight but not see through. The top is lined and you can dress it up or dress it down.

22 Days of Summer Fashion-Polka Dot DressI went with a casual look and added these strappy thong sandals. They are on sale for $20! I’m wearing the spanish chocolate color.

22 Days of Summer Fashion-Polka Dot DressI kept my jewelry simple. When it’s hot outside, I don’t like wearing a lot of jewelry.

22 Days of Summer Fashion-Polka Dot DressThis is a classic casual dress and would be a good workwear dress. You could add a white denim jacket or blazer.

Beauty For the Heart~~My sister shared this quote on Instagram. It was a quote that was written in my Mom’s bible. I love reading things she had written and often wonder what she might have been going through at the time she wrote it.

“Why would a God of love allow us to have challenges (trials) in our lives? Without battles or challenges in life, we would not grow as Christians. Victory comes in the battlegrounds. The Christian life is not a playground, it’s a battleground.”

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. Romans 5:3-4

Have a blessed day!

  1. I love the quote from your Mom. What a great reminder that trials are for our benefit. They certainly don’t feel like it in the moment. Thanks for the encouragement.

Love the Loft dress. So simple and cute!

  2. The polka dot dress from Loft is super cute. You mentioned the top is lined, is the bottom? If it’s not what do you wear under dresses so they are not see through? Slips are just kinda annoying sometimes… Any other options?

    I really enjoy your blog!

  3. I love the dress. I like to wear dresses to church. I really dress up, even my husband wears a suit. Thnak you for all you share.

    1. I agree Cheryl! I think the term “Sunday best” got lost somewhere along the way. I like to wear it because its my way of showing respect for my Heavenly Father 😉

  4. I too love polka dots. This dress is perfect for summer. I really love the sandals you’re wearing. You look beautiful and classy as always.
Btw…. for some reason I’m not receiving your email posts about twice a week. I’ve looked in my spam folder, and it’s not there either. I only mention this because I never want to miss a post. I love your blog and look forward to it daily.
    Thanks so much!

  5. Love the dress! and the sandals!

Does anyone else have issues with the strappy thong sandals killing them between their toes? I’ve been looking for solutions but haven’t found any good ones yet?

    1. Yes Perri, I also cannot wear sandals with the toe wedge and unfortunately so many of the cute shoes seem to be that style.

  6. Cyndi, you look amazing in this dress. In fact, I think you look amazing in everything you style. Thanks for sharing your mama’s words and the Bible verse. It’s hard to remember to be thankful when things aren’t going so great.

  7. Hi! Really enjoy your site- all the fashion, accessories and words of wisdom from scripture.

I also love shoes & especially sandals & as I have many different colors, try to match them to something in my outfit …. I noticed that you most always wear tan or beige even with white …. wondering if I am too matchy-matchy or is it just personal preference?

Anyone out there share my thoughts?

    1. Pamela I try to stay away from matchy matchy as it tends to age us. I love wearing a nude or beige shoe because it helps elongate our legs.
      Hope that helps!
      Cyndi

  8. After wearing pants, capris, and shorts all week, I love to dress up on Sundays too! Love it when you style a dress you plan to wear on Sunday.

  9. I love this dress and from the moment I saw it on you I knew I had to try it on. Just purchased it today and it is fantatic!! I am so glad you shared this as navy and white is a must for me for the summer and I love it with the casual sandals. Plus it can be worn to work with dressier shoes and a white jacket or sweater. Love it! Thank you for your style ideas! Love it!!

  10. I am wearing this dress today – most comfortable and flattering dress! Love it Cyndi – thank you – I am obsessed with your blog!!! 💗
