26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 2)

Welcome to Day 2 of my 26 Days of Summer Fashion. One of the things I try to do during my summer fashion, is share some summer trends with you.

Last year, I wasn’t thrilled with the trends, but this year there are so many good ones and they’re trends women over 40 can wear.

For example the embroidered trend has taken off. While at first I didn’t know if I wanted to wear it because it brings back memories of something my grandmother would wear. (Ahem, yes I know I’m a grandmother too but I don’t want to dress like one, thank you very much! 🙂 )

Anyway, I’ve decided to jump in on this trend. This top (thml brand) came in my recent Stitch Fix box and I immediately fell in love with it.

26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 2)
For a fun summer look, I paired it with my white jeans and a comfortable pair of sandals from Gap.

I also found this straw bag at Gap, I like a tote for everyday. I have my computer with me a lot and I can pop it in this tote and I’m good to go.

I layered three necklaces, the more you layer these days the better.

I’ve been wanting to add some tassel (I’m going crazy over the tassel trend) earrings to my summer wardrobe. Here are three options I’ve found with #1 being the best price.

Have you tried the embroidered trend yet?

  1. Not sure if I will be trying the embroidered trend or not…maybe if I find it on a cute black boho top…maybe. 🙂 Looks nice on you.

I love your Beauty for the Heart today. I find myself, often, going back to times when money was much more abundant in my life and “missing” it, but I need to focus on what is right here in my life now. I have a wonderful daughter, and I am truly thankful for her. Kids were not part of my “plan” in my previous life. I’m glad I have my life now. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Not a fan of embroidery, not a fan of tassels, but your Beauty From The Heart hit me right where I need it today! Thank you!

    1. Beth, the tank is adorable especially in blue! I may have to make a trip to JCP! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hi Cyndi,
Another lovely look and no hint of grandma? I’m also loving the big straw tote.
Guess what the sun is shining here in the UK whoop whoop, but very windy boo!
    Have a great day

  4. Your outfit is so fresh and pretty for early June! I love detail so the embroidered trend is spot on for me! Fun tote and cute necklaces also! The textures on your tote, sandals and embroidered print is a nice mix.

  5. Love the outfit and would definitely do embroidery and tassles – why not! However, I wish it was as easy to find a good selection of cute tops with sleeves. That’s a struggle these days. As always, Cyndi, you look adorable and the outfit is too cute! Thanks for sharing yourself with us. Blessings!

  6. I love the layered necklace look, but do you find the different chains getting tangled up throughout the day?

    1. I, too, have tried to layer necklaces this spring, but find they become a knotted mess by the end of the work day. Is there a secret to layering necklaces that i am missing?

  7. This outfit looks great on you! I love the embroidered trend, even found a cute embroidered top at my local Tractor Supply! :). For me, I prefer sleeves, but this top is so cute I could throw a thin cardigan on over it and go.

  8. I love this look. We must be in sync, as I have on the “embroidered tassel blouse” from LOFT today. Embroidery + tassels = 2 trends in 1. 🙂 It’s the #ootd on my Instagram: Anitamrobinson

  9. I love the neckline on your top. Very flattering. The bag is great too! Does it have any sections inside? Have a blessed day Cyndi!

  10. The top is very pretty Cyndi, especially with the white jeans. I am so glad you mentioned being able to carry your computer in the tote. I have a purse that my iPad will fit in when we go to a concert in July. Thank you for the idea!

  11. I like the top – very cute! and the colors are so pretty together. Really needed the Beauty for the heart today – timing was perfect for that one for me. I appreciate you!

  12. Please explain? It always seems like the one thing you are wearing that I love is always from Stitch Fix! Can I order just that exact item from them? Or do I have to sign up for 5 or more pieces?
    Thank you,

  13. is the embroidery a detachable for laundering or is it a yoke ? Glad to see there are others preferring some sleeves. Just feel more balanced and finished somehow.
Beauty of the Heart is always so timely. Cannot thank you enough for that. there were so many of the contributors today to relate to also. I really appreciate feeling less alone in some of life’s challenges

  14. White denim pants, shorts, and capris are my 3 favorite things during the summer months.
Love the top you have on.

  15. Love, love beauty for the heart. Also love white jeans/pants for summer. My go to! I like tassel necklaces but no earrings. Just me!! Top looks great on you.

  16. Love tassels. Love embroidery. Especially love the blue of your top. That color is just happy :-).

  17. Hi Cyndi,
Look at YOU in those pretty white jeans….Very chic!!! 🙂 Love your style.
I also loved the “Beauty for the Heart” quote too~“Not reaching back for what was lost in my yesterdays. And not reaching for what I hope will be in my tomorrow. But living fully with what is right in front of me. And truly seeing the gift of this moment.” -Lysa Terkeurst
This June will be a full month for my family… and I hope we can live in each moment, happy, content, and ever leaning on our Lord for His guidance!
Matthew 6:34a “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself….” Have a blessed day!!
