31 Days of Winter Fashion-Day 29

It’s Day 29 of my 31 Days of Winter Fashion and today I’m styling a denim dress.

I purchased this dress last fall on clearance at Gap. I added tights and boots to stay warm.

I’ve had all these items in my wardrobe for a while other than my tights that I recently purchased at LOFT.

I’m such a fan of a comfortable dress whether it’s winter or summer, spring or fall!

Do you like to style comfortable dresses? I think they’re a great look for a casual work outfit.

If you’re new around here, Welcome! I’d love for you to subscribe to my blog through email. You can also follow me on social media. I’m on FacebookInstagram and Pinterest!

January is coming to an end but I’ll still be sharing fashion posts. My plan is to do fashion on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s will be hair, makeup and spring trends.

What do you think?? I love to hear your ideas!

Beauty For the Heart~~On Sunday, we talked about beauty on the inside. Some of you said you struggled with guilty feelings for buying clothes or makeup. God doesn’t want us to hoard anything.

I think it’s okay to want to dress attractive and to wear make up but I do think we are responsible to bless others with what we have. Giving is a blessing!

I love this quote by Warren Wiersbe, “God doesn’t bless us just to make us happy; He blesses us to make us a blessing.”

Let’s bless someone today! (It doesn’t have to be monetarily, it can be a note, a visit etc.)

Have a blessed day!

  1. Cyndi, I so enjoy your blog and look forward to it everyday. I just started following you this month. You look adorable as usual in the denim dress today. I ordered the wit and wisdom jeans from Nordstrom’s and love them. Your Beauty from the Heart really touched me today. Sharing our blessings is so important. Thank you for blessing me.

  2. I am looking for comfortable dresses to work – I mostly wear nice pants and tops but want to change it up. Want more dresses to wear for church, baby showers, etc., too. Just casual and comfy.

I’m also looking for layering ideas – I love your style but a lot of it seems too warm for me. I am menopausal – heh. EG, not sure I could do scarf AND tights though I love both looks. Maybe I’ll try one at a time?

I haven’t bought tights yet – need help. Also are they ok for us 50-somethings?

    I appreciate you.

    1. Lori, I’m in my early 50’s. I like to wear slim fitting skirts, not tight, that come to my knee with boots and tights. I think it’s a great look for women of our age. Hope this helps

          1. My opinion as a 62-yr. old: tights with skirts and dresses are great for “mature” women. I feel much more confident in them than in summer going bare-legged as I have several noticeable veins in my legs. Tights make our legs look younger! I found some at Target this fall that are wearing well and I like.

  3. Love your M-F new possible schedule!! I love dresses too!! I would wear them every day but it would be too funny since I work at home!:-)
Yes, let’s bless someone today and everyday!! Blessings!!

  4. Love that scarf, the pattern and colors are just perfect. I could use that in my wardrobe, it’s going on my “Shop For” list. Looking forward to your “Spring Trends” in the new format. It will be nice to see in February what will be popular for spring and summer. Don’t change too much…you’re such a favorite of mine!

  5. Your outfit looks great Cyndi. I love your idea for next month 🙂 and I love Wiersbes quote too! Thanks for taking your time and sharing with us! You are appreciated 🙂

  6. Sounds like you have a good plan for all of us who love following your blog! This outfit is really cute and I love the way you tied all of it together with the scarf. Another winner!

  7. I want to add to your comments today in “Beauty for the Heart.” I get teased for being somewhat of a princess, with people asking me where my tiara is. This inspired me to start giving tiaras as gifts to women and girls in my life. What began as a joke turned into a ministry of sort. God is so amazing! He makes silliness His! You would not believe the emotional response I received from some. In the words of Suzanne Sugarbaker, there really is nothing quite like having someone place a tiara on your head. I have been struck by the number of women who have NEVER had someone make them feel like a princess. We are daughters of a King! We are all princesses. If a little make-up or a new dress (within your budget) makes you feel better in your duties as a princess, then I believe it is okay.

  8. Love dresses & boots! I’m excited to see what you have to share with us in February, and was totally blessed today with your blog and all of the comments. In fact, I just might have to put on my tiara when I get home from work. 🙂

  9. What I enjoy doing is if I buy an item I have to give one item away. For instance, if I buy a shirt then I give one away. I usually keep a bag in my closet that I fill and deliver to the Salvation Army. You can do this as well with household items. I got this idea from a dear Christian friend of mine. I thought I would share.

  10. I know God owns everything!
II Chronicles 29:11 and that He doesn’t want us to “lay up for ourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy…but to lay up for ourselves treasures in Heaven” Its so important to have a “clothing -makeup” budget and keep perspective on how we shop…How much time, talent and treasure are spent on our appearances should be balanced with how much time , talent and treasure is given away for His GLORY!
