Are Kimonos In Style 2023?

Hi ladies! Today I’m answering a question I’ve recently received several times over the last few months.

Are Kimonos In Style?

The answer is yes; kimonos continue to be a popular fashion choice in 2023. They’re versatile and can be worn for both formal and casual occasions.

Here are a couple of kimonos I have and wear:

This long kimono from Amazon is one of my favorites over swimsuits.

Long Kimono-Style Coverup • Scalloped Top (small) • Scalloped Bottoms (small) • Earrings • Sunglasses • Sandals

I ordered this kimono from Saks OFF 5TH and wore it last Saturday while Wayne and I were shopping for furniture. My favorite way to wear a kimono is with denim shorts.

How do you style a kimono to look trendy and chic?

Here are a few tips:

1. Choose a fitted or cropped kimono: Opt for a kimono that has a more structured or tailored fit, or try a cropped version. This can give a contemporary twist to the traditional style.
2. Belt it: Add a belt around your waist to define your figure and create a more polished look. This helps to avoid a shapeless appearance and adds a trendy touch.
3. Mix with modern pieces: Pair your kimono with modern wardrobe staples like jeans, leggings, or shorts. A kimono can effortlessly elevate a casual outfit and add a touch of elegance.
4. Experiment with layering: Layer your kimono over a simple T-shirt, camisole, or lightweight sweater. This allows you to play with different textures and colors, creating interesting combinations.
5. Choose complementary accessories: Accessorize your kimono with statement jewelry, a stylish handbag, or a wide-brimmed hat. These accessories can enhance the overall chic and trendy vibe of your outfit.

Beauty for the Heart™“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” Psalm 46:5

Truth: This verse is part of  Psalm 46 that speaks about the strength, refuge, and protection found in God. It is often interpreted as a reminder of God’s presence, especially in times of trouble or challenges.

The phrase “God is within her” means God is present with us, providing us with strength and stability, and while we might go through difficult seasons, we won’t be defeated.

  1. I love that you always tell us things that you are involved in at your church like VBS. You really do use your blog to influence women in a godly and biblical way. Thank you for being true to your faith and beliefs in this world where doing so may cost you followers. I love your clothing style as well and have add several pieces to my own look. Blessings

  2. I’d love to see your new furniture pics for the new house.

Enjoy DVBS. I taught and did craft time for years when our children were young. I imagine when our grandkids get older I’ll be involved once again.
Such a joy to share in these things all over again!💕

  3. I love all of these kimonos and the way you styled yours. Also, I agree 100% with Jenifer’s comments.
Assume the new table will be for the new house? The pictures of your current home are so lovely, I can’t imagine leaving it!

  4. I LOVE kimonos and they are a staple for me in the spring/summer and then longer cardigans are the same for fall/winter. I just prefer layering. I have a variety of kimonos ranging from solid to print to short to long to short sleeve to long sleeve

  5. I have 2 of the floral kimonos from Amazon and they are beautiful! Very affordable and pretty pop to an outfit. Also cool for hot summer days!

  6. Yes Cyndi, I too love your faith and how you share it!!!!
I also love kimonos, and will probably add a new one to collection this summer!

  7. Love BFTH verse. I too want a new round table. Please post when you find one. A few years ago I replaced all my family room furniture. So expensive. I want to do the living room next. It’s dated. As for Kimonos. I have a really cute short one from Evereve I bought two years ago and 2 mid length from loft. I don’t tend to grab them, but when I do I’ve worn with denim shorts with a white tee like you showed. Just a fun way to elevate the look and keep alittle warmer in air conditioning. Glad to know others still are wear them. I rarely see people wearing them around here.

  8. I’ve been wondering about kimonos because I love them, so I’m glad they are still in style!

    1. I didn’t realize you were moving. Will you still be in the same area? Please post pictures of your new home when you can. I love your current house!

  9. According to Eric Ross, as well known interior decorator, furniture prices have gone up by 30% – 40% just since 2020.

  10. One my favorite ways to wear a kimono is over a solid tee shirt dress, totally elevates the look. I also wear them as a bathing suit coverup.
