Family Summer Wear with Nordstrom

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle. Thank you for supporting Cyndi Spivey sponsors.

It’s summer, and that means it’s time for beaches, pools, barbecues, and anything else we can do outside, and I couldn’t be happier!

If you have some outdoor activities planned, Nordstrom has plenty of summer clothes to choose from, not only for you but for your family too.

Are you headed to the beach or a pool party? This BP strapless maxi dress is perfect. Wear it as a bathing suit cover-up and then dress it up for dinner. Add a denim jacket if the night time air gets chilly.

If I’m going to spend any time outside, I’m going to have a hat close by. It’s not only good for protecting my hair, but it also keeps the sun off my face.

A cute pair of sandals is a must, and these Steve Madden Slide Sandals have a beachy vibe with the shells.

So we can’t forget about our family and Nordstrom has you covered with men’s summer fashion. My husband is a fan of vineyard vines and loves to add some shirts to his summer wardrobe.

I like that Nordstrom has a variety of shorts with different lengths, plus cute sneakers to wear with their shorts.

We had a casual lunch date, and I wore the BP maxi dress in the floral pattern, and my husband wore his new outfit.

Beauty For the Heart~~Your struggles will not last forever, but you will. God will have His Eden. He is creating a garden in which Adams and Eves will share in His likeness and love, at peace with each other, animals, and nature. “If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.” (2 Timothy 2:12)

Believe this. Clutch it. Tattoo it on the interior of your heart. It may seem that the calamity sucked your life out to sea, but it hasn’t. You still have your destiny. -Max Lucado

Have a blessed day!

  1. Such pretty dresses and thank for including your husband’s outfit too. It’s helpful to have some ideas for the men in our lives.

  2. Love when your husband joins you on a post. You guys are an adorable couple and one year Mr. Spivey styled some boots from Rackroom Shoes and I ordered for my husband and he loved them. He still gets so many compliments when he wears them. We’re going on a Caribbean cruise in Oct and I could use a few new pieces. Like a hat and swimsuit coverup. I just don’t know if I should grab them now or wait until they go on sale at the end of the summer? I did order the black two piece lace swimsuit from Amazon you styled on your cruise and I love it. It’s my first two piece since I was a teen. But I will need to find some petite cover up pants to wear over.

  3. Such a pretty maxi – love all the colors it comes in BUT I so wish it came in petite. That seems to be a common issue I find with maxi dresses. I know, I could get it hemmed, but… 🙂

    1. I so agree with you. I’m 5ft 1 in. and I tend to steer away from maxi dresses for that same reason. Having to get them hemmed takes the fun out of going home with a new dress to wear right away as even at Nordstrom it usually takes at least a week minimum.

  4. Love both dresses and I love a nice hat. So nice to see Wayne with you:) I usually have to get a maxi in a petite or now I can look for the midi length. At 5’3 it’s hard not to trip over them lol. Have a great day.

  5. You forgot to put what size your husband’s clothes are 😂😂😂 I never really understand how putting what size people are wearing helps, what does help if you find it is true to size, or if you need to size up or down. I go between two sizes depending on the maker and cost.

  6. I love this dress! It’s so prefect for summer! You and your hubby are adorable. Thanks for the words of grace too:)

  7. Every time I seen Wayne, it dawns on me that I look more like him than I do like you. Oh well, we both think you are beautiful!

  8. So needed the BFTH today. Struggling with chronic migraines. Feel my life is sucked out to sea lately. I follow your blog not only for the fashion but love that you share your faith in Christ and you are real. You look so pretty in the maxi dresses. You and JoLynne did similiar post today. :). Great ideas from beach to going out. Nice your husband joined you as her daughter did. Have a good week.

  9. Saw some comments about being petite. I am also 5’1 and although you aren’t a petite size. It would be fun if you could explore some options for us petite gals. I love all the ideas and inspiration you give each day.
    Thank you!
