He Holds Our Future

It has been a rough few days for our family. My father-in-law’s health has been declining over the past year, and on Friday he stopped breathing. Thankfully, my husband was there, and he gave him CPR.

He was rushed to the hospital and immediately put on a ventilator. They are planning to wean him off the ventilator today and see if he can breathe on his own.

I don’t know what today holds but I do know who holds it. Isaiah 41:10 says, Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

While I want God to heal, I also know that that may not happen on this side of heaven.

What has this week been like for you? Maybe it’s been smooth sailing, or maybe you’ve had some difficult days. You’re wondering how God is going to work in your situation.

In the midst of our struggles, He is working things out that we can’t begin to imagine. Let’s trust Him even when we don’t understand his plan.

Romans 8:28 (NIV) reminds us He is working all things out for our good. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Lord, help us to trust you today!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m on FacebookPinterest, and my favorite one, Instagram.

Have a blessed day!

Love the song More Than Anything, it has spoken to me so many times since my husband passed away in a tragic accident a little over a year ago. God is good, no matter what we face He is always faithful. You are an inspiration to me Cyndi; always shining His light.

  4. Praying now. Stress and change with a move is a lot to deal with. An hour to hour approach is smart. May God give you and your family guidance and peace. Julie

  5. Lifting your family to our Heavenly Father today. Praying for God’s peace to cover you. Love in Christ, Beverly

  6. Cyndi–I am praying for you and your family. Either way, whether your father-in-law lives or passes into the presence of God, he will be healed. This is a thought I held on to fervently in Dec. 2009 as I held my husband’s hand in heart failure ICU, not knowing if he was going to die or receive a heart transplant. I knew that if my husband passed he would be whole, heathly and forever in the presence of God. Fortunately, God provided a miracle and blessed my husband with a new heart. With God ALL things are possible. I pray there will be more time this side of glory with your father-in-law, but if not, there will be eternity. God bless you and your family.

  7. Praying for you and your family, Cyndi. Praying for strength and peace as you all trust in Him for whatever His will may be. What a blessed hope we have as believers!

  8. Praying for your family knowing God is present with you and will give you strength and peace at this difficult time.

  9. Praying for your family. God knows best. Thank you for your words of faith today. We have had a difficult week with my husband being in the hospital with heart problems. I can feel what you’re going through.

  10. Praying Cyndi. May His peace be a comfort in the difficult days ahead whatever they hold for your family!

  11. I’m lifting your family up in prayer. Our futures are in God’s hands and we know that He is a good Father who loves us so! We just found out this past week that our newborn grandbaby has a clelf palate which was not discovered until a few days after she was born. It was quite a shock to our family and special feeding is required. She will need surgery at 9 months old but we’re thanking God that she has checked out healthy in every other way!

  12. So sorry to hear this Cyndi. Prayers he’ll be able to come off the ventilator and have a full recovery. I’m sure this was very traumatic for Wayne. Good luck with the move! XOXO
