Pink Ruffles + Distressed Denim

It’s hard to believe Jo-Lynne and I are wrapping up our spring fashion series this week. Today is Day 24 of our 27 Days of Spring Fashion.

If there is one trend that has taken over this spring it’s ruffles and because I love a feminine look, I’m definitely enjoying this trend.

I also love the contrast of distressed denim with the feminine ruffles…mixing a little hard with soft.

Have you tried mixing a feminine blouse with distressed denim?

  1. Growing up I didn’t like anything that was too girly, but I’m so glad I’m over that!! Because these ruffles that are everywhere lately are so pretty!
In fact I just read an article in the WSJ how the younger women are wearing more pink now because they don’t feel the need to denounce their femininity. (which tells me we did our job making headway for these younger women!!)

  2. Hi Cyndi,
Longtime follower, first time comment. Love love love this top! Going to see if I can score one today. And…you styled it miles better than the Target’s model!
    Thanks for your daily posts.

  3. Super cute on you! I am not too big on all the big ruffles but would do them in moderation on myself. Sometimes those things can drown me if too big. I do LOVE pink though. Blush seems to be the new neutral for Spring, doesn’t it? I bought a pair of distressed and fringed Seven jeans and love them. Really love that trend. Good luck with your speech!

  4. Very cute ! I love the combo ! I would wear that outfit minus the heels ( knee surgery and clumsy😳)
Hope all is well and appreciate all you do !

  5. Great outfit. I love all of your jewelry. I was wondering how do you store all the long necklaces and earings? My jewelry cabinet doors are not really long enough for long necklaces. I purchased those divided plastics storage boxes from Hobby Lobby for earings and bracelets and store by color.

  6. Too funny ~ I was shopping at Target yesterday and this top caught my eye. I worried that it would give me a fuller looking middle, but I see that it lays nicely on you. So, I may have to go back for it 🙂 Thank you for styling it for me today…lol

  7. Love it. Going to order it. 🙂 I love the color and the feminine look. I’ve tried the fringe jean on the bottom like you’ve styled and can do that at age 55 yr. old but just can’t do the distressed jeans with holes. Don’t feel comfortable at my age. You pull it off great. I live in a very small town and if I dress too stylish etc. then I get stares and feel out of place. I go to the bigger city hour away(Portland,OR.) and don’t feel like that. I don’t like that but its reality. I’m learning to dress how I like and who I am no matter how others do in my small town. Anyone else have this? PS Cyndi, can you tell me the names of the devotional series of 3 books you mentioned awhile back you go through? I had never done them and thought I saved the infor. but didn’t. Can’t find the blog you mentioned it in. Thanks. 🙂 Blessings

    1. I live near Portland too, I know what you mean, in Portland anything goes, no matter your age, but I also have learned to dress how I like, regardless of what others think, I’ll be 50 in one week but have always felt much younger than I am….. 🙂

      1. Thanks for responding and encouraging me to be myself and dress how I feel and like. I too feel younger than 55 yrs. old. 🙂

        1. Good for you! I don’t want to dress like an old lady just because I’m 54. I do try to dress modestly, but I always have. I wear distressed jeans (not torn completely up) but they are cute and I like them. Just bc we aren’t teenagers doesn’t mean we can’t dress in style and be cute too 😉

          1. Amen Melesa…..I too dress modestly and that is why I appreciate Cyndi’s blog so much. She knows how to put outfits together in a modest way and be in style age appropriate. 🙂 Thanks for sharing. We all need to feel cute. 🙂

      2. Just about anything goes in the Midwest too. I know what you mean about the really small towns, but who cares, you do you!!!

  8. Hi Cyndi – what an adorable outfit!!! Are the sandals a camel color, or more like a pink blush?

  9. Cyndi, the shirt is adorable on you!! I tried it on yesterday and it did not look good on me. I am short waisted with big boobs so the cute styles this spring do not look flattering on me!
You can wear anything and look like a million bucks!
    Paula K from Texas!

  10. I’m thinking of ordering this blouse… it looks thin, and looks like you have a cami under it?? I love it and I love ruffles too. It looks sooo soft and feminine! Hee hee I think I have talked myself into ordering it. LOL 🙂 You look soo beautiful in it… I think I will try to hunt some Palazzo pants in white to go with this blouse. God Bless….
