One of the trends in shoes that I’ve seen lately is the square toe trend. I decided to try it for myself.

First up, I’m wearing a pair of square toe boots from Marc Fisher.

These are croc print leather, and they have a shine to them. I love the retro vibe!

I ordered 1/2 size up in these boots. They have a side zipper, and I feel they have a wider shaft.

Next, I’m styling a pair of Franco Sarto leopard loafers. These are great for milder winters, and I’ll wear them well into spring.

These loafers have a menswear-inspired design. They are super comfortable, and I love mixing leopard with buffalo print this time of year.

Beauty For the Heart~~I shared this on Instagram:

I’m just sitting back relaxing because I have everything ready for Christmas.
NOT!
Every year I tell myself it will be different but procrastination always wins out.
But here’s what I know, Christmas will come whether I’m ready or not.
And when I focus on the true meaning of Christmas all those other things start to not feel so important.
Every gift might not be wrapped perfectly, my house might not look Pinterest worthy.
But I WILL celebrate the One who came, the One who has given me more grace than I deserve, who loves me even on my most unloveable days.
I’ll spend Christmas cherishing every one of my family members, I’ll hug them tight and I’ll treasure every moment.
That my friends will make this Christmas perfect for me.

Have a blessed day!

  1. I prefer a square toe. Much better for the feet. Thx for pointing out the buffalo check with leopard. I never would have done that myself 😊 have a blessed day 😘

  2. I love the leopard print with the check the more I see it. We have very few days to wear shoes in our winters( woke up to snow today)but we never know lol. I’ll have to check out this type of toe at our local DSW and plan ahead for spring. BFTH right on!
    Blessings

  3. LOVE BFTH! Thanks for helping us to remember the Reason for the Season — so true! Outfits are always so cute; Merry Christmas to you and your family ~

  4. Buffalo plaid and leopard is one of my favorites too! Glad I held onto a pair of black square toe ankle boots from several years ago. Looks like they will be back in style! I especially loved your BFTH today!!!

  5. You asked for personal opinions on square toed footwear……so I’m giving my opinion and am not attacking any style whatsoever 😀

Not a fan of any of the square toed footwear. Feel like it gives the female foot a heavy, clunky, wide look. I like a more sleek, feminine look.

Love your site Cyndi. I have bought many of the pieces you have showcased, and you’ve made fashion FUN for this “senior” again!!! Thanks a million!!!

  6. I love your posts and I love your style. Thank you, esp. for Beauty for the Heart. Please include shoes for those of us with narrow feet! It’s getting harder to find them.

  7. Your thoughts in BFTH today are spot on! Thank you for the reminder. At age 58, chronic pain and fatigue slow me down significantly and getting ready for Christmas is especially challenging. I will remember the gift is Jesus, plus this year, I’ll have all of my children home, which is a rarity. You said it well “this will make Christmas perfect for me!” Many blessings.
