Smocked Dress Trend for 2022

Tremendous thanks to Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring this post.

The smocked dress style is undoubtedly having a moment. I love a smocked dress; it’s versatile, feminine, and fun. Nordstrom has so many pretty smocked dresses for spring and summer.

I picked some of my favorite smocked dresses below:

This gorgeous floral smocked dress is under $100 and perfect for any spring event that requires you to be a little more dressed up. I think it would be pretty for church too.

The dress has a sweetheart neckline and short sleeves; it’s also partially lined.

How fun is this faux-leather clutch with a wood bead handle? It’s so unique and goes with all my spring and summer dresses.

I’m also wearing my Kendra Scott textured drop earrings. These earrings are a classic style, and I’ve had them for years.

These Dolce Vita slide sandals are my favorite heel for the spring season. This brand runs a little small, so I sized up 1/2 size, and I’m wearing the cafe color.

Have you tried any smock dresses yet?

One of my favorite things about Nordstrom is that they offer free shipping and returns.

Also, don’t forget that being a Nordy Club Member has advantages. If you aren’t already a Nordy Club Member, you’ll want to sign up here.

If you live close to Nordstrom, don’t forget to take advantage of BOPUS (buy online, pick up in-store) service; they also offer curbside pickup.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to stop by my blog. I’m also on FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

  1. Gorgeous dress Cyndi! I wish Nordstrom Canada would carry the same merchandise ( sometimes they do)!but unfortunately not this dress!
I’ve been a grandmother now for 7 months and there is such joy when we get to spend time with our granddaughter!

  2. My daughter’s favoritr birthdsy meal is BBQ chicken legs, as well. We always have mashed potatoes with ours. She’s only 11 but she chose that meal 3-4 years in a row.

    Have fun celebrating!

  3. Everything looks adorable on you but seriously, this little house on the prairie trend is not flattering to most women. Btw, thank you for your posts. I look forward to reading them every day. You are very inspiring 💝

  4. Hi Cyndi, that dress is just gorgeous on you! Like you, I have always been a fan of smocking. Just recently I received the most beautiful smocked top from Avara. Previously I wasn’t aware of them but because you mentioned them in a blog awhile back I now browse their website regularly. Thank you! Now, if the weather here in the northeast would just stay above 60 I can start wearing that beautiful smoked top!

  5. Love this dress on you! I bought the Dolce Vita cafe slide sandals from your link after seeing you style them awhile ago.

Do you also like the shorter heel ones? I am considering these after seeing you style them but wanted to get your input on benefits or other to owning two of same just with different heel lengths?

I like adding trendy and classic pieces to my wardrobe….and get many things from you styling pieces and really appreciate this!

    1. Rachel I love both of them. So many of my readers want lower heels so I purchased them too share because I think they are trendy and cute but have the lower heel.
If you like the higher heel ones, no need to get the lower heel.
      Hoope that helps!

  6. You look beautiful in this dress. You can pull off this style, but I’m 60 and just don’t feel I can. I love a feminine blouse but can’t pull off this style of dress. I’m trying to find more plain styles to add this Summer to replace when I don’t want to wear shorts, which is most the time these days. Could you find some cute, casual t shirt dresses to style? Have fun babysitting and happy b’day to Courtney. I just love spending time with my grandchildren. My heart is FULL when I do. 🙂 Have a great weekend.

  7. PS The dolce vita short heel sandals should be at my house by tomorrow. I’m so glad you posted it again the other day and my size was available. It was hard to decide on the color but I got the same one you did.

  8. You look beautiful in the dress. I like the smocked look. I had a lot of tops and dresses back in the day like that. Now at my age it’s too girly. I wish I could find a smocked top with longer sleeves. Thank you for the email showing the Old Navy short pink tank top a couple of weeks ago. I ordered two and I love them. I’m glad you said to size up. I ordered the petite medium and they fit good. Enjoy your grandchildren and happy birthday to your daughter.

  9. You do look sweetly beautiful in these photos! Beautiful dress! I have not tried a smocked dress as of yet… I feel since my upper body is the biggest part of me, that it would accentuate that… I may have to at least try one on! 🙂

    Blessings- full of Grace! <3

  10. I have been receiving your emails for years and suddenly the last two weeks I have not. I even resigned up to get the emails last week and still
Have not . I keep checking my spam .

  11. You look lovely in the dress but I think a smocked dress is a ‘caution fashion’ for most women above a certain age. Too easy to look like you’re trying to hard to look ‘girlish’. Enjoy your weekend!

  12. The dress is darling on you. It would be perfect for a summer wedding or dinner out somewhere tropical. But, I think I’m beyond the age for smocked dresses.
My mom won awards for her smocking. I have a picture of myself, about four years of age, in a pink smocked dress.

  13. does anyone know how tall cindy is? i’m 5-7 and i love that smocked dress, but will it be too short?
