Styling A Maggy London Dress

Last week I shared some dresses by Maggy London that would be great to wear to a summer wedding. One of my readers emailed me and asked if I would style the Maggy London Sleeveless Illusion-Lace Dress.

I was so excited because I love this dress. Since I shared about it last week, it’s currently unavailable online. But hopefully, you could find it at Macy’s.

Here’s how I styled the dress.

Here are the items I added to complete the look.

Styling A Maggy London Dress
CHANTILLY LACE CHANDELIER EARRINGS-these are from Stella & Dot and I’m a stylist with them. I looked everywhere for another pair of earrings but if you look at the dress up close, it has lace flowers that match these earrings perfectly!!

Ann Taylor Modern Classic Ring Set-this is now sold out but I loved these rings.

Carlos Santana Lola Envelope Clutch-I added this purse before I realized the price. It’s $358, which I would never pay. But I thought if she could find one similar it was super cute. Since styling the dress, the purse is sold out. What??? People pay this much for a purse!!

Antonio Melani Brianne Slingback PumpsI love this classic pump. They’re practical and can be worn with a lot of different outfits.

I like Maggy London dresses because I think they’re made for women who want to look stylish and the lengths are good for women over 40.

Have you purchased a Maggy London dress?

  1. That dress is so pretty! We’ve already had the wedding for the season, last weekend. I had 2 weddings last fall. Fall seems to be the wedding season now. I bought a thrifted Maggy London dress last summer. I like it, but my 20 year old says it looks too “90s” and too young for me.

  2. I think that dress is adorable! I can’t pay that much for a purse either nor would I! I love that style of dress too, sheaths don’t work for me, boo hoo, but maybe in the future, I’m on a quest for healthy and clean eating, down 14 lbs this morning!

  3. I LOVE Maggy London dresses. I still remember my very first Maggy London dress–my dad bought it for me when I was 21. Such lovely quality, such nice styling, and I can always count on the sizing being just right. Of course, it would be nice to have you to style each one for me! 🙂

  4. Very pretty dress and I love the way you styled it. I can’t imagine buying a purse for that price either but it looks great 🙂 I like Maggy London as well but don’t own one yet!

  5. I loved that dress when you posted last week and it was not available online. I did read the one review and it said it was not as bright as the picture. I did find this dress or one very similar in petite here at Nordstroms….free delivery and returns:

  6. Cute dress. I like the way you styled it. I don’t wear gold/gold tone/yellow gold, so I would have to go with silver accessories and maybe a cooler tone dress…green or blue probably. 🙂 I’ll bet this dress and accessories would look great on you Cyndi. 🙂

As for the purse price, I may be guilty of buying a couple in that price range, but it was always from QVC and on “Easy Pay!” Crazy, I know, but I’ve purchased a few Bruce Makowsky bags and a couple of Dooney bags on QVC. Thankfully, they don’t sell Gucci! 🙂

Thanks for sharing Cyndi. Hope you have a Fab Friday.

  7. What a great look! Cyndi, I draw complete blanks – TOTAL blanks – when it comes to styling outfits of any kind, dresses, tops, skirt and blouse and suits. Is there a particular accessory you typically begin with when building the look? Most times, I go with plain jane gold or silver chain, small hoop earrings and a cuff bracelet in the same color as the other metals. It doesn’t look bad, just very boring. I love everything you selected for this dress; it just paints the picture . Be blessed!
