Sunday Encouragement-I Will Trust

I admit, there are some weeks when I question God. I wonder if he’s listening to me. Does he know what I’m going through? Does he see what I’m seeing and feeling?

It doesn’t take long for me to get my answers. Reading scripture can clear up a lot of my questions and my fears.

Here is what I know to be true.

1. God is in control. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

I don’t know what we’re going to face this week. You don’t, either. But I can tell you without a doubt that God is in control. It may not always seem that way because we see things through a human perspective. God sees the bigger picture.

2. God is never caught off guard. Isaiah 46:9-10, “Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”

Sometimes I think when something happens, we think it’s a surprise to God. Nothing could be farther from the truth. He alone knows the future. Not only does he know it, he holds it!

3. God is on His throne! Psalm 47:8, “God reigns above the nations, sitting on his holy throne.”

Don’t ever doubt that God is on his throne. He’s there and whatever we face, He is with us. Trust him!

I love this song by Lauren Daigle. It’s a good reminder that God by our side!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I don’t want to go to church this morning. Just want to curl up and cry.
Where are Christians going to make a stand on their rights?

    1. I’m saddened that some of my Chrisian friends are being persuaded by the world instead of living by the teachings in the Bible, the one book that we can count on to survive in this world. Stay strong in your faith and keep on worshipping God. You know HE reigns!

      1. Yes, God is in control. And, no, He is never surprised. But time and time again, we read in the Bible of nations rejecting Him and suffering the consequences. Not until they repented and turned back to God did He heal their land. We must stay strong ourselves and pray for our nation. I don’t know what else we can do. It doesn’t seem enough, but I know HE is enough.

    2. Alice, it’s okay to curl up and cry for a bit. God’s heart is broken too with all the sin in our world. And yet He alone is the source of our joy and hope. Praying for you sister; I understand your heartache as my heart is broken this weekend too. Cyndi’s message today is spot on and I commend her for directing our hearts and our confusion back onto the ONE who is sovereign and is in control over all things.

  2. Thank you Cyndi! I really needed those scriptures today. I would appreciate prayers for my mom. Because we are doing a lot of traveling for the next month we are moving her into an assisted living facility this morning. The dementia makes any type of change very difficult to deal with. I pray that my mom will be granted peace. I know that after she gets settled in, she will be happier because there will always be people around. And I ask for prayers that God will keep us safe as we travel to IL, MO, & FL from GA, to visit family. Thank you! God Bless!

  3. Thank you for this post this morning. I needed to be reminded of God’s power and love, and that he is always in control.

  4. Good morning.
Those scriptures are so true. When I was going through rough times I would often ask is God listening does he hear me? As I’ve gotten older I know he is listening I know he hears me.
    Have a blessed day.

  5. As usual, the timing of this message was perfect. I am struggling with something today….and needed to hear this. Thank you for letting God work through you.

  6. I am so saddened by what our country has allowed to happen…but I realized yesterday that it did not surprise God, He knew this would happen. And HE is in control! So your scriptures were as always perfect for today! Thank you Cyndi!

  7. Thank you Cyndi for your daily posts and for this reminder that is so often easily forgotten – that God has a plan for each of us! It’s not on our time but his time when things will happen for us! I had someone question me recently as what it means to give your problems, doubts and fears to God and it was perfect timing to share this lesson about God’s agenda, not ours! Have a blessed Sunday.

  8. Cyndi,
Thank you so much for those encouraging words! God is really using you to encourage me! I read your blog every morning w my cup of coffee. It helps me get through the day some day i have to read it twice. Lol So glad i found your blog on pinterest

  9. Wow, Cyndi, this one brought a lot of tears. I am 54 yrs old and had been in church my whole life, up to about 4 years ago. The last church I was at, I played piano there over 20 years, with an amazing band. We mostly played contemporary Christian music and often played old hymns, but new ways. It was amazing. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, but always came back from surgeries in my hands, able to eventually play piano again. Finally, when the cartridge was gone at my hand/wrist area, it was too painful to play and I had to leave the band. It was during a time when both of my parents were diagnosed with Alzheimers, so I thought maybe it was God’s plan to slow me down for them. Now, my mother has passed and my dad is in a home closer to my sister in another state, and I just continue to worsen from the R.A., but, thank the Lord, I can still go to work each day – Just not do the thing I love the most. Please pray that I will at last, some day, stop questioning God and just trust that it is part of His plan. Thank you for this blog. It is a source of comfort to me. YOU are a source of comfort to me, Cyndi.

  10. Amen! As one very wise saint said, “When you can’t trace God’s hand, trust His heart!” Life is a continual test and an on going trust but being in the palm of His hand is the safest place to be!

  11. Thank you for these beautiful Sunday morning thoughts and the song, which were very timely for me. A song that has carried me through other difficult times is “IWill Praise You in This Storm” by Casting Crowns. Wishing peace and comfort to all your readers who have bravely posted their own struggles today!

On an unrelated note, I used your coupon code to place my first order with Glamour Farms on Wednesday this week, and was so happy to receive it yesterday. As another reader mentioned, it comes wrapped in cute leopard tissue, and felt like receiving a gift! Good quality and outstanding customer service. Hope your event with them yesterday was a success!

  12. Thank you for your post, this week has been disheartening, but it helps to remember He is in control and He knows all things that will come to pass.

    1. Tracey, I too have been disheartened this week. When I was praying about it the Lord reminded me of Elisha when he ran from Jezebel. He felt utterly alone. But the Lord said he had reserved 7000 who had not bowed their knee to Baal. I am so thankful for brothers and sister in Christ. We are not alone. though we can’t see it sometimes. May the Lord bless us both with peace that passes all understanding.

  13. Thanks Cyndi. That post was just what I needed to hear. God is in control of our lives. We just need to trust Him in all we do.
    I appreciate your encouragement!????

  14. Thank you for your beautiful posts. They’re so encouraging. I’m a Christian too and I so appreciate that you are outspoken about your faith. It’s refreshing! God bless you and I look forward to seeing your next posts, Martha

  15. Thank you for your words of encouragement. I was looking for a verse to stamp on some jewelry and I think after reading some of your posts I have found a few that have “shouted”out to my spirit. Keep on doing what the Lord has you doing!
