Tassel Tank Top + White Shorts

Hello from the Badlands National Park! Wayne and I are traveling out west and today we are in South Dakota. We spent yesterday driving, you can see for miles and miles!

The Badlands National Park is spectacular to see and we stayed until late last night to see the night sky. I’m soaking up all of God’s beauty.

I wore this short outfit yesterday and it was perfect for the hot weather here in South Dakota. The tassel tank top is from Nordstom. I love the tassels but I also love the high neck.

I purchased my small crossbody bag from Gap. It’s perfect to carry when you’re traveling and it’s big enough for my iphone, and it’s on sale!

Tassel Tank Top + White ShortsThese Sam Edelman sandals are perfect with shorts but they’ll look cute with my summer dresses too.

  1. It’s nice to see you wearing shorts, Cyndi!! You have such great legs, so why not?
I just wrote an article for Sixty + Me (although it’s not published yet) on capris for women since my mom (the 70+ model on my blog) and my step mom (the 60+ model) don’t wear shorts anymore!!
Have a fabulous trip—it’s fun to see how beautiful our country is!!

  2. Personal question I realize…but did you wear a strapless bra with your tank and top? And did you mention the size top you are wearing? Super cute outfit and I love the background! Have fun!

    1. Love love this outfit! Can you let us know what sizes you are wearing for top and shorts? Thanks! Enjoy your vacation!

  3. Have a wonderful vacation. I hope you get to drive thru Colorado. Its truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. I have lived here for over 30 years, and I never get tired of looking at Gods masterpiece.

  4. Have a fabulous trip! My husband & I did Mt. Rushmore and all that was in the area a couple of years ago, it was my favorite trip ever! So much beauty in that area – you have to see Mt Rushmore during the day & at night if you can, they do a neat presentation at night & it is lit up so I would suggest going later in the day. The Custer Memorial should be seen the same way as they do a lit up version too. Also if you can , you need to see Spearfish, it is out past Deadwood & so so beautiful with all the waterfalls etc. You will love it. We stayed in a cabin in Hill City & loved it!

  5. Hey Cyndi! I grew up in South Dakota and it’s still my favorite place in the world! If you go through the town of Keystone, there’s a little taffy store that has the best fresh, salt water taffy ever! Have a great trip!

  6. I love everything about this outfit, Cyndi! Whay a beautiful scenery you are enjoying! Definitely God’s Mighty Hand in it! Blessings!

  10. Welcome to South Dakota! I am a lifelong resident and have lived on both sides of the state. I hope you have a wonderful time here. Another commenter mentioned Spearfish Canyon. . . I was just there and it is worth the few extra miles on your trip. Historic Deadwood is also fun for a quick stop, and you should also head south to see the Crazy Horse Monument near Custer State Park in addition to Mount Rushmore.

  11. We took that western trip a couple of years ago. It’s beautiful out there! Enjoy your trip. You look so cute!

  12. We did the same route exactly. Started one year ago the same two weeks in June. Loved, loved, loved God’s beauty! Our whole family talks about this trip often and wants to go back. Have a safe trip! Love the top, too.

  14. Our family used to live in South Dakota at Ellsworth AFB when our kids were younger. We usually did the tourist things on the weekends. We even went to Yellowstone park one summer! Enjoy your trip 😀. It’s great country.

  15. Cute outfit for travel! I love that part of the country! My favorite thing is to drive through Custer State park and look for wild animals. There are around 1500 buffalo there, so you are sure to see them! Safe travels!

  17. Love this outfit, looks so cute on you! Y’all are on the trip I would love to take! Plz send send more pictures, especially of Mt. Rushmore. Have a fun and safe trip!😊

  18. I LOVE this tank top. I am a true fan of turtleneck tops and mock turtleneck tops because I don’t really like my neck! haha This would be a great top for me. Now I just have to tone my arms so the sleeveless will work! Will I ever get there??? hahaha. Thank you for sharing the beautiful landscape that God has created. Enjoy your trip and your special time together with Wayne!

  19. Great outfit- I’m a little old for tassels but really like a tank with a higher neckline- also I have been wearing the Coobie tanks(same as bras) and they have a lace t-strap back & come in many colors. You’re adorable!

  20. Cyndi, you look comfortable and stylish as usual.

Please do a trip summary when you get a chance: how you traveled to the parks, where you stayed, where you ate, etc. I would love to do something similar with my family but have no idea where to begin. Thanks!

  21. Are you coming through Colorado? It would be fun to meet you quickly if you are coming to Colorado Springs/Pikes Peak area. :o)

  23. Have a great time. I am from South Dakota and have been to Mt Rushmore several times and it is always amazing.
    Safe travels. Love your outfit

  24. Cute outfit, as you look cool and comfortable for traveling and site seeing. Are those flat sandals comfortable for walking? They also look a bit small for your feet, but maybe it was the way the picture was taken?? Safe Travels!

  25. Wow! That scenery is the very definition of “God’s Country”! I love that top, too. Do you get hot when you have to wear a tank top under summer things? Or do you know of under-layers that are cooler and “breathable”?

  26. I’m from Zion’s Cause in Benton KY. Just spent the last few days at Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Yellowstone. What beautiful country. Enjoy your visit. Love following you although I’m spending a lot more on clothes!!! Lol

  27. Cyndi, you are looking so fit and beautiful as always! Enjoy your vacation. The pictures are great!

  28. Thank you for sharing. I am not far from Mt. Rushmore, Eastern Montana. More of the badlands in this area…Medora, ND and Makoshika State Park in Glendive,Montana(triceritop dig is currently in process). You could easily go in this direction on your way to Yellowstone Park. Paradise Valley by Livingston, MT is a wonderful entrance into the park. Go through Redlodge, Mt up through Cooke City is beautiful drive. Leaving the park through Bozeman, Mt to view the Museum of the Rockies could be a plan…. 🙂 Lots of ideas for you. If you so desire would love to give you a guided tour through Makoshika Park. Let me know.
You are an inspiration. Thank you for letting us be a part of your life. Blessings, Bridget Kurtz
