Favorite “Pin” Friday~Polka Dots

Yeah its Friday! And I’m excited about my Favorite “Pin” Friday. I love polka dots and so when I saw this outfit that Jessica from What I Wore had on, I decided to copy it.

Here’s what I love:

~the polka dot blouse (of course)

~the pop of color with the yellow belt

~the skinny jeans

I also love her bun! Buns are going to be everywhere this fall but unfortunately my hair isn’t long enough. I may have to grow my hair out, just for a bun!

Here’s my attempt to copy her outfit. Since I couldn’t do a bun, I just put my sides up and remember I’m not tall and stick thin! :-)

I already had the black blazer. Everything else I purchased was on sale.

Polka dot blouse~ Macy’s

Yellow belt~Target (they have every color in this belt.)

Skinny Jeans~Kohl’s (these are part jeggings and they’re super comfortable!)

Gray casual shoe~Kohl’s

What do you think? Do you ever copy the pictures you “pin” on Pinterest?

If you do, I’d love to see a picture of you, send it to me at cyndispivey(at)gmail(dot)com. I’m going to try and feature some of you, my readers on my blog!

*****I would love for you to follow me on PINTEREST to see things I love! Also, chat with my on my FACEBOOK page, it’s a great way to connect with me. If you want to see pictures of my day to day stuff, follow me on INSTAGRAM!

Beauty For the Heart~~Last night after I went to bed, I was thinking about how much fun I had trying to copy the outfit I found on Pinterest. But then I thought about who I really want to look like. Philippians 2:5 says, You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

That’s who I really want to copy. I want to have the mind of Christ; to think as Christ thought; to desire as Christ desired; to choose as Christ chose.

Have a great weekend!

Silly me. I was expecting to see a poka dot pin (pinned to a blazer) lol… I love the look (I think your look is better:), love your hair pulled back. I wish I could get the volume you have for that look, my hair is just too thin for it, but I think I will give it a try today. I have not gotten into looking for looks to copy, seem to be online enough without it!

Hey Cindy! You can get that volume, it’s all about bobby pins. I think I’m going to have do a video post on how i do it. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Thanks Cyndi! I would love to see another hair tutorial. I found your “how you do your hair tutorial”, seeing the layers and length you have I see how you get the volume … I need a cut, but for today I put it up in a bun… really struggling with getting it cut when I can FINALLY put it up LOL…any way, I love your blog. Have a wonderful weekend :)

You are SO cute. Your “copy ” is adorable. And, like, Cindy, I think it is even better then the original. I really enjoy your blog. Thanks for sharing.

You look terrific! I am enjoying your blog so much…I am a 48 year old, first grade school teacher. I have always enjoyed clothes (as my very full closet will testify!) but in the past year or two I have felt a little lost and without interest in my clothes. I think mine is a rather tough age for fashion–I certainly do not want to dress like a teenager but I do not want to look old either. You are really helping me get inspired to try a little again, thank you!

Jill thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I’m glad i can help inspire you. Our age is tricky but we can still be fashionable!!
                Have a great week!

You do look very cute, I would add red lipstick to your “outfit”.

Sis I love that idea, I just tend to be conservative with lipstick. I would love to be a little more bold.
                  Thanks for stopping by!

Wow, that’s amazing! You did so well copying the outfit. I can never find anything remotely close to what I see on Pinterest. It doesn’t help that I have to shop in the petite section, and they don’t carry too many stylish clothes. Love the polka dots!

                    • [...] Polka dots are fun and an off-white cable knit sweater is a classic. You can add a scarf to the off-white sweater to add color. I purchased the polka dot sweater at Old Navy and the off-white sweater at Kohl’s. [...]
