26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 9)

Happy hump day ladies! It’s Day 9 of my 26 Days of summer fashion and I’m styling the Old Navy pixie pant.

These might be the first pair of pants I have owned from Old Navy. Typically, I’m not a fan of their pants but I love these pixie pants.

26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 9)
They are also my new favorite color for summer! I call it coral, Old Navy calls the color, flaming tulip. Call it what you like, I love the color!

26 Days of Summer Fashion (Day 9)
This sleeveless top has some pops of the coral in it along with some green. I really like coral and the muted green together.

I have been looking for a fringe handbag and I found this one at Target. It’s small and perfect for those days when you don’t want to carry a big tote.

Beauty For the Heart~~My daughter said she had had a rough couple of days. I immediately thought of this poem, my Mom liked it and had shared it with me. Maybe one of you need to hear it today too!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he’d stuck it out.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are –
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit. – by Author Unknown

  1. My friend, Terri, keeps telling me that I should email you because I’m such a big fan of yours! She emailed you recently asking about where to apply the essential oils for hot flashes. I look forward to reading your post everyday. I started following you at the beginning of spring. I have purchased a lot of the outfits and jewelry that you’ve modeled on your blog! I’m your mini me-giggle, giggle! I get lots of compliments and immediately tell them all about you! I purchased the coral pixie pants as well as 2 others. I also love the shirt! I was wondering what type of bra you wear under it because my straps poke out a little on the sides. It has the opening in the back, so wasn’t shirt what would work. Thanks for all your help!!!

    1. Hi Cathy!!
Thank you so much for stopping by and for sharing my blog. I really appreciate it!!
I should have mentioned in this post that I wore a white tank top under this top. You can’t see it from the front, but you can see it from the back. It’s a white jersey style tank top http://rstyle.me/~4HyK4
So I wear my regular bra and my straps don’t show.
      I hope that helps!!
      Blessings,
      cyndi

  2. The pixie pant is the BEST! It’s got a little stretch and hits the ankle (on me) just right. I have them in red, white, navy dot and navy stripe. Can you tell how much I like them. Great outfit, Cyndi. I love the top too. Due to the fact that Old Navy is a little more junior-like in their sizing, I buy a 6 and normally in other brands I wear a 4.

  3. I love this outfit! I have been looking at colorful pants to wear to work– I found some jade green ones at KMart that I am going to get. I love the fringe purse, too, I just don’t know how I’d fit all of my stuff into it! HA!

  4. I really like the cropped pants and the color. Can’t say I like the loose fitting top. It looks like a maternity top. I like the pattern. Just would prefer it fitted a little.

  5. Cindy…….I NEEDED that little poem today……I’m going through a little rough patch myself with my self worth……I know though that with God all things will work for good, in His time!!!

I absolutely love the Pixie pant from Old Navy, I own a few pair and they are the most comfortable pants and fit to a tee!!!

Thank you so much for what you do……you encourage me every single day!!

    Pressing on……Donna 🙂

  6. The whole outfit looks really nice on you! I wish I could wear things like that, but being petite and pear-shaped, it’s difficult to find the right look.

  7. Love the coral! Really like the top, too; such a pretty color combo. Thanks for your Beauty for the Heart. The messages are so fitting and such good reminders for me each day.

  8. Hi Cyndi,
I very rarely have luck with Old Navy’s pants either but these are very cute. In past blogs, I’ve noticed you wear the same size as me. Since Old Navy’s sizes aren’t always consistent would you mind sharing what size your pants are? I’d love to order some online.
    Thanks!

  9. So cute! Love the colors and so nice looking! I’ve never heard of pixie pant so I must be living in a cave! This outfit would be perfect for all my summer plans!

  10. Hi Cyndi, loving the pixie pants, I guess they are similar to an ankle grazer, pretty simple top too.
The poem I have never heard before, but has great encouraging words, I’m feeling like I need a lift myself at the moment. Today my daughter finished high school, until she returns to a new sixth form college, I am filled with emotion and cannot believe how quickly the time has gone.
Thanks for your encouraging words in your blog. Nicky x

  11. I love Old Navy pixie pants too.

Thank you for posting the poem. It has always been rather special. My mom also shared this poem with me many years ago. She has been gone (with Jesus!) for 6 years now. Thanks for bringing back a wonderful memory and for your wonderful blog!! 🙂

  12. Nice n’ light and airy outfit! Very Cute. How about the cute shoes…Where/when did you get them? They are really cute with your outfit

  13. Love the Beauty for the Heart today! Thanks for sharing the poem, we may be closer to that long, awaited answered prayer or a valley we’re wandering around in! You look simply adorable Cyndi! When I saw your first photo, I instantly thought you must be off to a Bridal Shower this morning!

  14. I love Old Navy’s pixie pants. I have 8 pairs! These pants fit me great, when not many of their other styles fit me. I wore them late winter, tucked in boots

    1. I wondered how these pants would look with boots. It’d be nice to have them in a color that could be worn all year.

Like many others, Old Navy doesn’t usually work for me but I may have to try these since they come in petite. If they aren’t petite they won’t be ankle pants they’ll be “past my heel” pants!

  15. I love that poem! I am liking pixie pants but so far haven’t tried the ankle length ones. This outfit is wonderful, love the shoes! I adore this color orange and have so many items for the season!

  16. I bought the black and navy for winter and wore them constantly. I washed and dried them for 5 minutes to get the wrinkles out and then enjoyed them. For the price, they are great. I found every color fit differently, which I thought was amusing. I wore them as pants but I saw where other bloggers wore them more as leggings. Multi-use!

  17. I love the entire outfit on you! I’m 5’3″ and sometimes pants like that don’t look great on me. How tall are you? Would you say those pants run true to size?

    1. Karen, I ditto your comment! 🙂 I wondered the same things. I’m 5’2″ and I can’t wear pants like that either. I end up looking frumpy, squatty, and short.

  18. I love the poem and plan on sharing it with my friends on FB. I have never heard of pixie pants. I too, love the color no your complete outfit. Have a blessed day!

  19. I love those pants and plan to visit Old Navy soon. What a cute top – looks terrific on you.
    Have a great day

  20. I absolutely LOVE that poem! I had a pastor preach on the subject of “pressing on” one year between Christmas and New Years and ever since this poem has had a special place in my heart. I am truly glad that you posted it today as a reminder to everyone that God has a special plan for each of us if we just press on!
Like your daughter I am a single mom and I know that this poem will be a reminder to her of the great things ahead for her! Blessings and thanks for posting this today!

  21. Such an adorable outfit. Love pixie pants and love that color on you. Fun!
Thanks for the poem it’s what I need today. As Winston Churchill said, “Never, never, never give up.” The final goal is “Christ”. : )

    1. I have these pants. They are just ankle pants. The “pixie” part of the description is just Old Navy’s description for that particular fit pants. There are “pixie” ankle pants, chinos, long pants, etc. They’re supposed to all fit the same, no matter what style. (sadly, I haven’t found this to be the case!) Hope this helps:)

  22. Adorable summery outfit, Cyndi! Love the color and style of both the pants and shirt. I don’t normally wear sleeveless, but with I could try this outfit. You look so cute!

  23. Love the pixie pant color too!! Your entire outfit is adorable. Love the poem and scripture you shared as well. Have a blessed day Cyndi 😉
