Fall Trend to Try: Bandana and Paisley
Every fall, there seems to be one print that suddenly starts popping up everywhere, and this year, I’m seeing bandana and paisley prints all over the place. They’re showing up on scarves and handbags, but I’m also seeing them on blouses, dresses, jackets, and even pants.
I love that this trend can lean a little Western or boho without feeling like you’re wearing a costume. You can add just a touch with an accessory or have a little more fun with a printed piece, so today, I’m sharing some easy ways to wear the bandana and paisley trend this fall.
Why Bandana and Paisley Prints Are Trending for Fall 2026
We’ve been seeing Western influences in fashion for a while now, and they’re definitely sticking around for fall. Suede, denim, boots, belts, and rich shades of brown are everywhere, so it makes sense that bandana and paisley prints are having a moment too.

But I think the newer versions feel a little different. Instead of only seeing traditional paisley blouses, I’m seeing bandana-inspired prints on quilted jackets, scarves, dresses, handbags, and other pieces.

There’s also a lot of color beyond the classic red bandana. Brown, burgundy, navy, olive, cream, and even softer blue versions make this trend really easy to work into a fall wardrobe.
Bandana Print Scarves Are the Easiest Way to Try the Trend
If you like this trend but aren’t sure you want to commit to a full paisley blouse or dress, start with a scarf. This is probably the easiest and most affordable way to give an outfit that bandana look.

Tie one around your neck with a simple sweater or button-down, or wear it with a denim jacket and jeans. I’m also seeing scarves tied onto handbags, which is an easy way to add some color and print without actually wearing it.

I especially like the brown, burgundy, and navy bandanas for fall because they work with so many of the colors we’re already wearing.
Bandana and Paisley Print Tops for Fall
A printed top is another easy way to wear this trend, and there are so many pretty ones out right now. I’m seeing everything from classic paisley blouses to more relaxed button-downs and Western-inspired shirts.

This is one of those pieces that does most of the work for you. Pair it with jeans and boots, and you’re dressed. If the print has a lot going on, I’d keep everything else fairly simple.

Dark-wash denim looks especially good with the richer paisley prints we’re seeing this season. You could also pair a printed blouse with brown or camel pants if you want a break from jeans.
Bandana and Paisley Print Dresses and Skirts
If you love a print, this is where you can have a little more fun with it. A paisley or bandana print dress gives you that fall look without having to think too hard about putting an outfit together.

I’d add boots and a simple handbag and call it a day. As the weather gets cooler, you can layer a denim jacket, suede jacket, or cardigan over it.

Skirts in these prints are another option I’m seeing, and they’re easy to pair with a solid sweater or fitted top. I like this combination because the print is the focal point, but the outfit still feels easy to wear.
Quilted Bandana Print Jackets Are Everywhere
This might be my favorite version of the trend. I’m seeing so many cardigans and jackets with paisley, bandana, and patchwork-inspired prints this fall.

Cotton-Blend Fringe Shawl Cardigan
They have that slightly vintage look that’s really popular right now, and they’re an easy way to make a basic jeans-and-tee outfit more interesting. You don’t need much else when your jacket has this much personality.

I’d wear one with straight-leg jeans and a simple tee or lightweight sweater. You could also pair one with solid brown or cream pants to pull out one of the colors in the print.
Bandana Print Handbags and Accessories
You definitely don’t have to wear a big print to get in on this trend. Accessories are a great option if your closet is mostly solids.

I’m seeing paisley and bandana prints on handbags, totes, belts, and scarves. Even one small printed accessory can change the feel of an outfit.

This is also a fun way to try the trend if your style is more classic. A white shirt, jeans, and brown shoes suddenly feel a little more current when you add a paisley scarf or bandana-inspired bag.
How to Wear Bandana and Paisley Prints Without Looking Too Western
This is probably the biggest question with this trend because it can go Western pretty quickly. If that’s the look you love, go for it! But if you just want a nod to the trend, I’d balance the print with pieces you already wear.

A paisley blouse with denim and simple shoes feels modern without being overly themed. The same goes for a bandana scarf with a crewneck sweater or a quilted paisley jacket over a basic tee.

I’d also stick with one bandana or paisley piece at a time. You don’t need the scarf, printed shirt, Western belt, and cowboy boots all in the same outfit.
The colors you pair with it can make a difference too. I’m loving these prints with chocolate brown, burgundy, denim, navy, camel, cream, and olive for fall. They pick up that slightly rustic feeling without taking the outfit too far in one direction.

Beauty for the Heart– I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. Psalm 16:8
I love the reminder in this verse that God is always with us. Not just on the good days or when life is going the way we hoped, but in the hard places too.
Whatever you’re facing today, you are not facing it alone. God is right there beside you. He knows what’s ahead, He sees what you can’t see, and nothing takes Him by surprise.
That means we don’t have to live in fear. We can keep our eyes on Him and trust that He will give us the strength we need for whatever comes our way.
Remember who is standing beside you. Keep your eyes on the Lord. He is faithful, He is near, and He will not let you go.

Amen, so true… and yet we still need the reminder! “He will give us the strength we need for whatever comes our way.”
Thank you!
I might would try a scarf to add to my bag, maybe around my neck. Possibly a blouse with one of these prints. But I don’t think I care much for the printed jeans! lol
The dresses are pretty too.
Blessings!
I bought the brown and white silk bandana scarf from evereve.
Believe the Lord is always with us but so good for the reminder! Think I’ll sit out the bandana trend at my age…….but cute for younger women.
Love these!! Might try a pair of the jeans.
Thank you for this beautiful reminder. Our sermon yesterday was about giving the Lord our petition in prayer then leaving it there with full faith and trust that He has it in His hands. No fear about the outcome. Full surrender.
The bandana trend will have to grow on me. I’m not really into western clothing. It takes me back to the 80’s. May try a little scarf but I’ll pass on the jeans for now Lol. Have a blessed week.
Not sure yet if I’ll participate in this trend. When I see a bandana I think of the theme we had for VBS two yrs ago wearing bandanas as leaders with our class. Always reminds me of Western theme. 🙃🙃I’ve never felt good wearing western theme. Cute ideas though in this post. Welcome home. I know what you mean. We just got home and I feel like I need a vacation. lol
Hi Cyndi,
Great post! I have a couple of tops that will go with this trend and I just ordered a bandana for my purse. Fun stuff!
Also love the BFTH. A wonderful reminder that God is ALWAYS with his children❤️
I learned of this story recently. The Super Bowl half time show with Snoop Dogg, I guess the promoters asked him to not wear a certain color of bandana because that would signify gang affiliation to a certain gang. So Snoop who is nobody’s fool, wore a whole bandana outfit made from the color they didn’t want him to wear! Thanks for all the cute outfits today-Snoop appropriate or not!
Maybe I’ll tie a bandana on my tote bag or buy a pair of bandana socks to wear with pajamas at bedtime. That’s as far as I’ll go with this trend. Love the BFTH ❤️
Love the paisley, but the bandana print looks juvenile. No thank you.
I would wear a bandana print if it’s not red on a scarf or socks.
Great post with so many options for being on trend! Thank you! Definitely a throwback to the 80’s and I love it!
Thank you for this reminder today that we are never alone, Cyndi. God is always with us.🙏🙏
I love the bandanna and paisley prints and plan to gradually work them into my wardrobe.
I JUST BOUGHT A PAIR OF THE PAISLEY BANDANA JEANS IN BROWN FROM WALMART (NO BOUNDARIES). THEY ARE WIDE LEG AND EVEN THOUGH I’M NOT CRAZY ABOUT WIDE LEG JEANS THEY FIT SO WELL AND LOOK SO CUTE THAT I’VE DECIDED TO KEEP THEM. I’LL WEAR A PLAIN BROWN HENLEY TOP WITH THEM. I’M REALLY INTO BROWN ALWAYS BUT ESPECIALLY LOVING THAT IT’S SO “IN” THIS YEAR.
Cyndi, your tip to try the trend with just one piece at a time is exactly right — one bandana print scarf with a simple sweater reads modern, not costumey. I’m drawn to the brown and burgundy colourways you highlighted rather than the classic red; they feel so much richer for fall. The quilted jacket is my favourite version too — that slightly vintage look layered over straight-leg jeans and a tee sounds like the perfect low-effort way in. I may dip a toe in with a scarf tied on my handbag first!
