Holiday Style-The Little Black Dress

Merry Christmas! I’m sure you all are ready for the Christmas week ahead. I still have a little shopping left to do, and a whole lot of wrapping. Fun times!

Let’s talk holiday style! You can never go wrong with the little black dress for your Christmas or New Year’s Eve get-togethers.  As a matter of fact the little black dress was one of the items that Alison and I had on the list for our Wardrobe Basic Style Challenge.

Some of the women in the style challenge were surprised at how many ways you can style the little black dress. You can dress it up or down but it’s a great piece to have in your wardrobe.

This little black dress can be worn year round. The fabric is light weight and the dress is sleeveless. I could easily wear this in warmer weather with a cute pair of open toed heels.

This has been one of my favorite necklaces to style this fall/winter season. It adds a touch of bling to any outfit!

It’s your turn, do you have a little black dress? Have you tried styling it different ways?

Beauty For the Heart~~ Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11 NKJV

Rejoice today because Jesus left heaven and came to earth! Oh how we need Him!

Have a blessed day!

  1. HI Cyndi, my little black dress is by the far the biggest surprise item that I LOVE from the wardrobe basics challenge. I bought mine at Target, and I’ve been looking for years for a LBD that looked great on me, and for many ways to dress it up and down. I’m thrilled with mine. I hope to wear it lots for work and for special occasions. Even for fun sometimes because it feels so amazing, and I feel very confident and classic when i wear it. Thanks for adding that to the build your wardrobe basics list. Amy

  2. Love your darling little black shoes!!1 This black jumper style dress brings back memories of my private school days. To this day, I do not own a jumper or “shift” style dress. However, I do own three “little black dresses” and love them!! They are always a must for a Holiday!! 🙂

  3. I have a LBT (teal) dress that I wear for a lot of occasions in the winter and a LBN (navy) dress that I wear during the spring and summer. I am in our church’s choir and the fall back color is black if you don’t have the color of the week. So because I tend to wear it a lot on Sundays, it’s not my color of choice when I have a choice! Merry Christmas!

  4. You look beautiful and I like the concept of a LBD, but this past year I have tried to move away from black. My coloring has “faded” a bit over time and I decided to find other colors that are more complimentary to my skin and eyes. I let go of red, too but I have found some really attractive alternatives. Black is chic and gorgeous-am I crazy to let it go?

  5. You look lovely! I just Pinned a LBD outfit yesterday that I’m going to try! It’s the dress, with cognac-colored riding boots, denim jacket, off-white scarf. I would have never put that together, and it looked so nice. Pairing that color of boots just wouldn’t have crossed my mind.
