31 Days of Winter Fashion-Day 7

It’s Day 7 of my 31 Days of Winter Fashion and we’re talking capes and ponchos!

Capes and ponchos are a trendy fashion piece that’s a perfect choice if you want to feel comfortable and warm but still look stylish.

I styled a poncho during my 31 Days of Fall Fashion. I purchased this poncho from Marshall’s and I loved wearing it with my open toe heels from Rack room shoes.

There’s a variety of styles to choose from so I thought I’d try another one during my 31 Days of Winter Fashion.

I love me some chevron print so this one was a win win!

While I was at it, I thought I’d style some grey jeans. I’m a little late to that party since they’ve been around all fall but it’s better late than never, right?

I’m thinking here how cute my over the knee boots would look with this outfit. If you read my post yesterday, you know my daughter borrowed them and I’m afraid I might not ever see them again unless of course she’s wearing them . 🙂

Beauty For the Heart~~I love the beginning of a New Year. It’s fresh and new and full of possibilities. I can look ahead at the calendar and wonder what the year will bring.

As I think about 2015, I wonder will their be joy, sadness, hurts, adventure? I can’t see into the future, but God can. Although I might plan out my year, I’m so thankful to know that He is guiding my steps.

A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9

Have a blessed day!

  1. I just bought a black and white plaid cape this weekend. It was a stretch for me and after I got it home, I had the thought that I would probably never wear it. Now that I see you wearing yours, I know I will be trendy when I wear mine! Thanks for your blog and fashion tips. I look forward to coming to your page every day.

  2. Hi Cyndi,
I just discovered your blog and LOVE it! Everything you wear is sooo my style. Reading your post about your Mom also relates to me. She is still with me but will be 88 in Feb. Her Christian example has been huge in my life.

I think we must be kindred souls!

  3. You look so great! And it must be warmer where you are. I am wearing my woolly socks and red Columbia boots to shovel the snow in!!

  4. You look so cute today! That black and gray chevron cape accented with the black fringe would be a very frequent “go to” for me. I’m just thinking how great it looks with your black turtleneck and then rhinking of how many other things it would look fabulous with as well. You are one stylish lady!
I read Courtney’s comment on your post yesterdy and cracked up. She sounds just like my daughter! Be blessed!

  5. I LOVE everything about this outfit. You look amazing! I think the fringe is what makes the poncho. Your outfit is so much cuter than the Norstrom ad. This is definitely one of my all time favorite outfits I’ve seen you in since I joined the blog. Love it!!

    1. Question – would you use a clutch with this outfit or any poncho? A shoulder bag wouldn’t look right, it would mess with the way the poncho hangs/draps over your arms.

  6. Love your blog! Love your outfits and hair! I would love for you to do a tutorial on how you style your longer hair.

  7. Love this look. Have two daughters and have lost a few favorites myself…I agree with some others…better just kiss them goodbye and go purchase a new pair! ;0)

  8. Hi Cyndi….Love your blog and I read it everyday. Could you please post a link to the over the knee boots that Courtney likes 🙂

  9. I like your blog better!:) love today’s outfit & beauty for the heart.Cyndi go buy another pair of boots. Ha or buy her a pair. Win/win for you both.

  10. Cyndi, I just discovered your blog and LOVE it! I love the fun fashion advice and the beautiful pieces of wisdom that you blog. I don’t know when you daughters birthday is, but I am thinking a nice pair of knee high, suede boots might be just the thing to give her!

  11. Last Christmas (2013), my son gave me a black and white plaid poncho, and I wondered how I would fit it into my wardrobe. It didn’t take long for me to figure it out! I enjoy wearing it, and I love that I can layer it over a fleece vest or a jacket/cardigan to add more warmth.

  12. Thank you. I have really enjoyed your blog, I am receiving through email. Love your style. In the spirit of conversation I just wanted to comment on your green grass. I have been enjoying seeing your pictures as much as your style. Do you know of some who styles for snow and extreme cold. We are experiencing -13 feels like -25. (8.6 feels like -13 Fahrenheit). It is nice to be stylish and feel pretty but I pick warm. Thank you again for what you are doing love the whole blog and the daily God breezes.

  13. Good morning Cyndi, I love the ponchos, especially the chevron print.
I do agree the black over the knee boots would look great, you look great as always! I’m so thankful and blessed to have found your Blog, thanks for all your hard work! Have a great day! 🙂

  14. Oh I love that chevron print!! I bought a cape from Thread Up last month just to try the trend. It is a bit shorter so I am trying to figure out how to style it. I am thinking layers. You look lovely as always!! Susan
