31 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 20)

Is this month flying by or what?? I absolutely love October and I’m trying to soak up every minute of it. It’s so beautiful this time of year with all the trees bursting with color.

I also love fall fashion and today is day 20 of my 31 Days of Fall fashion. Today I’m adding a touch of floral to my outfit.

31 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 20)

We’ve talked about the floral trend before, and it’s one of those trends we (women over 40) have to be careful with. Too much floral and it can age us.

Adding a floral scarf is the perfect amount for me and of course I love a scarf. This one from Old Navy is light weight and perfect for a cool fall day.

31 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 20)
In case you haven’t noticed I love wearing heels. These cute booties are comfortable for a few hours, but I’m not sure I could wear them all day. I wore them to church but I probably wouldn’t wear them on an all day shopping trip. They’re from Rack Room Shoes.

31 Days Of Fall Fashion (Day 20)

Heels elongate you and give you a thinner appearance. I know some of you say you can’t wear them but if you can, even if it’s a small heel, add them to your wardrobe. Also wedge heels are usually more comfortable if you’re looking for comfort.

I think heels are feminine and classy and so I’m going to wear them as long as I can! And yes I have been known to fall several times in heels (ask my husband) but we laugh and I keep wearing them.

Do you love wearing heels? What about a wedge heel?

Beauty For the Heart~~One of the things we try to do as we get older is use products that will help erase our wrinkles. Truthfully none of them can take away every wrinkle.

But there is something that can be erased, and that’s our sin. Scripture tells us that because of Christ our sins can be forgiven and better yet, God will remove them as far as the east is from the west. Let’s live in that freedom!

He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12 (NLT)

Have a blessed day!

  1. Hi Cyndi….I have noticed a lot of your outfits on pinterest. And I love your style. I love looking for that right outfit, too. I will soon share with you my outfit I want to wear for Thanksgiving. Would love your input, thanks .Oh did I tell you I am an early bird about everything pretty much. I already have two garbage bags full and wrapped with Christmas gifts for this year. Here is my email address, brlpr2004@att.net. I am looking forward from hearing from you.

  2. Those booties. I must have them. I wonder if we have a Rack Room in Portland. I’ve been trying so hard to get on the bootie train (ha!) but something about the casual ones just aren’t me. These though, with the lower boot shaft and the heel, are totally me! You look great, as always!

  3. Love the floral scarf! Very pretty. Even more love the reminder that Christ has forgiven our sins. Praise Him!

  4. Love heels too, I haven’t really worn wedges except for sandals. I have a new pair I will be trying. Love that outfit I have almost the same one. Love the way you share where you buy the pieces too. Thank you for your inspiration and the precious word.

  5. Heels and I can no longer be friends but I love them! Great outfit today. The browns, camels and cognac colors complement your coloring-I can’t get away with them and must stick to my greys and taupes. Beautiful!

  6. Hey Cyndi! So cute- I also have a fashion blog and that’s how I stumbled upon you- but I attended Asbury U with sweet Cory!!! It always amazes me what a small world it is.

I look forward to your future posts.
    xo,
    Hannah

  7. I have really enjoyed all your posts lately! Such cute outfits & great inspiration! I’ve been adding a lot to my wardrobe lately & having fun. It makes a huge difference in the way I feel about myself to feel “put together.” 🙂 I love heels, but I also can’t wear them too long. But I’m short & love to feel a bit taller. 😉 Ha!

  8. You’re so blessed to have “good feet.” I would dearly love to still wear heels, but bunions and now a Morton’s neuroma won’t let me. Boo!

  9. another great outfit. really like the suggestion for the scarf. Do you think using paisley sort of qualifies for getting into the floral trend? ha
I was just recently thinking about the scripture that you used and wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could forgive and forget for others and ourselves.?? not being able to forgive/forget our past transgressions can be so crippling. thank you for the reminder that He has wiped our slate clean so what are we holding on for??

  10. I like heels for short periods of time. Not for running errands etc. Love that outfit on you. We are finally getting fall in Savannah! PTL. BEAUTIFUL weather this week.

  11. I’m really enjoying the fall outfits. I must confess I’m a little envious that your weather allows you to wear them! I live in Southern California where this year the temperatures rarely drop below 90. I’m still wearing tank tops and sandals. I have a pair of taupe suede boots very similar to the ones you are wearing in the photo. I like the way they look with your outfit. I sure hope I get the chance to wear mine!

  12. Cyndi, So glad to have found your blog on Pinterest. I am in my late 40’s and my wardrobe is a mess. I too often fall for trendy pieces that some would consider a little less than age appropriate and your blog is a great reference. We appear to be about the same size and height. I always feel more comfortable and confident with some type of heel (wedges and clogs have been my usual go to). I broke down Thursday and bought some nude ballet flats to wear with slim leg jeans (flats seem to cause pain and blisters on the tops of my feet after a short time of wear). Crossing my fingers, I get a little more wear out of these Cole Haan’s. Your pictures have convinced me to purchase some black booties.

    1. Hi! I am a blistery shoe wearer as well. Have you tried a Bandaid product, I think called Friction block”? It is like a tiny deodorant stick and it helps give a barrier, less blisters 🙂

      1. Well….After about an hour of wear, doing some shopping, the new Cole Haan ballerinas had produced a painful skin tear on the back of my foot. I see so many people wearing flats…is everyone using bandaids? Definately plan to try Cheryl’ s recommendation above. Shoes are boxed up to return.

  13. I love your blog and I love your outfit today as always.
I really like to wear heels. My husband is the same height as me, so anytime I wear heels I feel like a giant. I try to find heels that are 2 or 2 1/2 inch and those are very hard to find. He tells me all the time not to worry about it, but I do. I save my taller ones for when he is on Deacon Duty and we don’t sit together because he is patrolling the halls at church. I call them my “deacon duty shoes.” 🙂

  14. So pretty Cindi! I wish I could wear heels because they do make me look taller and feel slimmer but after years and years of being on my feet all day, I guess I’ll stick to my wedges. 🙂

  15. Your outfit looks very nice today. The scarf is pretty. I think heels look nice, though I normally wear flats except for special occasions. I wore heels every day for years, but find flats more comfortable these days.

  16. I just finished a post and I was wearing flats. As I was downloading the pictures, I realized that wedges would have looked so much better. One of the fun things about blogging is the ability to see things we love and those we would like to change. I love this touch of floral!! Susan

  17. You look great as usaual Cyndi. I prefer heels too, 2-3 ” are my favorite. Thicker heel or wedge seems to keep me from falling 🙂 I love your Beauty for the Heart each day. Be blessed and have a fantastic day ! 🙂

  18. I love heels too Cyndi and I agree with your comments about them, I’m 49 and I’m going to wear them as long as I can! It’s been fun seeing your 31 Days of Fall Fashion, I know it can’t be easy for you but it gives me ideas and inspires me to create new outfits out of my existing wardrobe and to buy a few new additions. Thanks for blogging, I look forward to opening your email everyday!

  19. Yes, Praise the Lord, He washed away my sins when I was a small child of 6. I remember the day like it was yesterday, when I knelt down by my bed and my Aunt showed me the way to Heaven by repenting of my sins and accepting and believing on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Yes, I do wear heels, as you can see in my pix that I posted over the weekend. I love my sued ankle boots, they are sooo easy to walk in they are like tennis shoes- if you never liked wearing heels then try a pair of these(thick heel like a cowboy boots yet walks and feels like a tennis shoe)!!
I do not wear wedges, not now. I wore a pair of 3 inch wedges back in 82 since I was 15…. all the time as a teenager and loved them. But now I do not prefer them. Personally I do not think they are sexy and I do not like to wear thick heels on dress shoes either as I prefer on boots.
I love shoes and boots and these are what I prefer for me….
I love : spiked stilettos on pumps only…. and thicker heels on boots and ankle boots. and I love flats, flippies, and sandals!! <3

  20. Love the outfit, Cyndi. I love the look of heels and try to wear them for short periods. But at 55 and sporting bunions, it’s a little difficult and most often go flat. Thanks for clothing us with the Word as well as our wardrobe!
